I have copy and pasted paragraph 11 of the Lease Agreement that the resident signed.

11. PETS: No animal of any kind shall be kept or harbored in the leased Premises, unless the same in, each instance is expressly permitted in writing by the Landlord, and such consent, if...

given shall be revocable by the Landlord at any time. The charge for violation of pet restriction is $300.00 per pet.

We follow the same policies for each and every resident.  I am not willing to waive the fine.

Very Truly Yours,

W. [redacted], Esq.

General Councel

NALS Apartment Homes

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.I have contacted the apartment complex management company numerous times and have provided multiple copies of the attached report and letter to the NALS management group and legal representation. The handyman the company employs is not licensed in mold identification and removal, so their "thorough inspection" does not hold water. I paid $300 out of my own pocket for the attached labwork and for a licensed professional to come in and assess the unit. They have no personal gain finding mold as they understand this is an apartment and so they would not be contracted to fix an issue.

We indicated concern about the water damage on our Move In Walkthru paperwork, verbally with the office staff specifically indicating the strong musty smell and overwhelming humidity.

Upon reviewing different apartment rating websites there are a large number of posts indicating this complex as doing ALL of the things I mentioned in my original complaint including but not limited to: denying mold presence without having a professional evaluate the claims, and charging residents random fees for pets that did not reside in the residence.

Regards,

As I had mentioned before.  I feel as though it was not clearly stated that I was not allowed even a visitor whom had a small dog.  I still feel as though I am being singled out.  My neighbor whom has since moved out in 2004.  Was she ever fined for feeding the stray cats, or feeding the birds that crap on my car everyday from her balcony?  The cat would actually follow her around the complex everyday.  Even now you can still see the food and water dish outside of her door.

This is an unfair practice and I still will not be renewing my  lease as your actions are totally unreasonable and you just wanted the $300 for yourself.  You are greedy and unfair in this instance.  You could have just knocked on my door and asked about the small dog in which I could have came down and signed a new lease or whatever it is you wanted.  I was not trying to hide anything from the management.  I obviously did not know that the original pet deposit of $200 I already paid did not cover a visiting animal.  I am very unhappy with you and wow did you teach me a fantastic lesson. That no matter where you go people are always after a little extra money.  You are being ridiculous with your stupid $300 fine and I hope its going to something important like fixing the dang hot tubs in this building that never ever work.

Regards,
