TownePlace Suites by Marriott

I purchased a stay at this hotel on *** on May 23, 2020 to stay at the hotel while I had surgery. I stayed at this hotel May 27-29, 2020. I payed on my debit card on the *** website. When I got to the hotel I was asked for a card to hold for security purposes, so I gave them my capitol one credit card. After my stay with the hotel the charge showed pending for 79 dollars. Three days later on June 2, 2020 it posted for $70.08. I called the hotel who told me that the charge is only pending and would release. I explained to the that I used to work for *** and know that it should be pending of course but the problem was that it had posted. They refused to believe me and told me to wait 7 business days or so from my stay. After that amount of time I as well as my husband called numerous times to talk to the hotel manager who never seemed to be there and never returned my calls. I began to email corporate on June 16, 2020 and was told that they had contacted the hotel and that the manager would return my calls shortly. That never happened and at this point my credit card had a late fee from failure to pay. I ended up borrowing 82 dollars from my dad to cover the charges and the 12 dollar late fee. I paid my bill on the 18th of June and finally got a hold of the general manager on the 19th who said that he had allegedly reversed my charge and to give it 5-7 business days. Those days passed. Corporate had told me in order to compensate me otherwise to create a *** account and they would give me 5000 points. That was also on the 18th, I created my account around the 20th and gave him my number and of course they never gave me the points either. Plus what makes it worse is 5000 points is not a free stay like I was led on to be. I have no money, no points, I still owe my dad my money who is mad but bills are due on the 1st. I am highly upset. *** and the corporate contact is *** from case resolutions.

Really surprised for a Marriot brand. Staff seemed in a daze, first room had no a/c in one of the bedrooms of the two bedroom suite. Second room everything was unplugged (tv and air conditioners, alarms, etc)and the all the wall thermostats were out. Still didn't cool off after plugging in everything. So air con was obviously unplugged cuz it wasn't working properly. Third room all a/c works but problems with the television. Contact corporate and they start a refund claim, then find out it was closed behind my back because they listed it as "resolved". Not resolved and I'll be filing a Revdex.com complaint against corporate on this as well. I would like to pursue a refund for our ones night stay as it was absolutely the worst stay we've had. We had young babies and they were gonna rent us a room with no a/c and not care! Believe it's a race issue since my wife's Hispanic.
