Hello, I received your letter dated May 19, on Tuesday, May 23, In response to the complaint regarding this matter, the client custom ordered the door When I installed it, I saw a defect in the door and was not able to fit it properly The door is a Masonite door I suggested that the client notify Masonite that this is a defective door in order to get it replaced I also suggested to have me be there when the representative from Masonite comes out to inspect the door so I could give my input and make sure that Masonite would replace the door The client chose to meet with the Masonite representative alone without my presence I don’t know what the representative told the client, but the next thing I knew, I was asked to pick up my tools and leave I did use anchor supports I did make cuts to the block outside in order to have the door fit properlyI did everything I could to fit the door, but it is a defective door Thank you,William T [redacted] ***

BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE
I hired Mr William T*** to install french doorsHe forced the door in(looks horrible and doesn't work properly)He used NO anchor supports, NO dropcloth when grinding/house is filled with dust, made unnecessary cuts to block(outside), told me it was the manufactures (***) fault that the door was to tall/high(he measured)
I was told it was right size, installer didn't install correctlyA couple day job turned into weeks, a door that is NOT FUNCTIONAL, STRESS, AND OF COURSE MORE MONEY GOING OUT TO REPAIR/INSTALL DOOR CORRECTLYHe got paid $
Installer is Uncapable of performing such jobs

Installer should have told me door was defective as soon as it was noticed - NOT THE DAY AFTER. No drop cloth used - This must have been a first time install.WHY was title removed, the door should have come up right to it. SEVERAL DIFFERENT CONTRACTORS have looked at doorAll have said the door was Not defective.I think asking half of the monies is reasonable considering all the mess he has left. Also, Mr T*** very unprofessional discussing for long periods of time his home/family issues situation. If Mr T*** feels he was in the right, my next option is small claims.Thank you,Teresa

Hello, I received your letter dated May 19, 2017 on Tuesday, May 23, 2017. In response to the complaint regarding this matter, the client custom ordered the door.  When I installed it, I saw a defect in the door and was not able to fit it properly.  The door is a Masonite door....

I suggested that the client notify Masonite that this is a defective door in order to get it replaced.  I also suggested to have me be there when the representative from Masonite comes out to inspect the door so I could give my input and make sure that Masonite would replace the door.  The client chose to meet with the Masonite representative alone without my presence.  I don’t know what the representative told the client, but the next thing I knew, I was asked to pick up my tools and leave.  I did use anchor supports.  I did make cuts to the block outside in order to have the door fit properly. I did everything I could to fit the door, but it is a defective door.  Thank you,William T[redacted]

Hello, Jasmine,   I would like to reply to your most recent email regarding this matter.   No drop cloth was used because we had talked about putting concrete in front of the door and at least 3 feet beyond the door on each side.  By leaving the mortar and broken block there, it would take less concrete to fill that area.   The mortar on the block was cut to try and save that block which extended beyond the cut line for the door.  Client wanted to try and save as many block as possible.  I decided not to try and remove every other block after breaking four in a row.  The blocks weren’t cut.  The mortar had been cut only on the block that extended into where the door would be placed for removal.  After breaking the block and the ones that were already cut, I had the mortar to put back in them and it would have been fine.   I did not remove any tile.   I have been doing this for over 40 years.  This is not a first time install.  The center hinge was bent.  I didn’t notice this defect until I started putting in the door knob and dead bolt.   I am willing to pay the $350 that she is requesting.  I still feel that if given the opportunity to meet with the Masonite rep, we would not be going thorugh this now.   Thank you, William T[redacted]
