Let me preface this by saying that I have used a moving company before based on a personal recommendation, and had a very positive experienceThis was not thatWhat I experienced instead was concern, uneasiness, dread and a whole lot of sketchiness
First off, they showed up hour and minutes late in a RENTAL TRUCKUsually moving companies have their own equipment, so this was the first red flagI was told we would have people to handle a bedroom homeInstead, they showed up with what appeared to be an older man, his wife and their sonFor 90% of the move, they lifted everything single-handedly without use of straps or dolliesThe younger guy was attentive and was the only one I saw use a dolly, but the owner was bulling and jamming and even tore our bookshelf from the wallWhen I asked if they would wrap things, I was told they would wrap it on the truckThis did not happen
My favorite part was when they were meeting us at the last location to unload, and they were nowhere to be foundI called, and the owner said they chose to take Route instead of the highway because of tolls and "you never know when you might be pulled over." So, were they operating a vehicle without a license? Something was awry since any real moving company would roll the cost of tolls into their asking price
By the time they made it to the drop off location, they were tired and their arms were junkI was asked by the owner if they could be paid in cashAgain, not a professional request, not to mention a concerning oneI suppose they did need to pay for their rental truck
I have touched on the more concerning aspects of this experienceI would highly encourage getting a recommendation for a reputable moving company, and this company is far from thatI am not sure how they have stayed in business so long, but I hope this review saves others from the same nightmareMoving is hard enough without having to stress and worry about a company you pay to take that part out of the equation
