I am in receipt of your letter in regards to a complaint from one of our residents that resides in our apartment community, Town Square ApartmentsIt is our policy to knock on doors after the 4th of the month if rent has not been receivedOur manager and assistant manager knocked on the door of
*** *** on June 10th and gave her a notice to vacate for non-payment of rentWhen the resident stated that she had paid her rent, the assistant manager told her to please bring her receipt to the office so they could confirm payment of her rentThe resident did not go to the office with the receipt so the assistant manager reviewed the receipt bookThe receipt payment of $845, dated June 3, 1016, receipt number *** was found in the receipt bookThe assistant manager called Ms*** to let her know that the payment was received and we would correct our records to show payment was received in fullI have attached a copy of the payment which shows the cashier's check was made payable to Town Square ApartmentsMs*** indicated that the cashier's check was altered and a crime was committed and criminal charges for the alteration should be filedAs you can clearly see, the payment was not alteredI believe the office staff made a mistake and applied the payment to the incorrect apartment resulting in a notice being given to Ms*** to ask her to pay the rent or vacateOur apologies have been given to Ms*** along with her account being corrected to show she does not owe any money to the propertyIf you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to call me at ***.Sincerely,*** ***CAM, CAPS, SHCM, NCP-E, CPO Senior Property Supervisor
