Towpath Enterprises, Inc. Reviews (4)

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/10/23) */
Ms. S[redacted]'s complaints are absolutely unfounded.. We have told her numerous times that we will help her have the car fixed and/or trade her out if car had too many "issues". She has failed to ever call us or show up regarding these...

complaints. She has had a friend of hers call us occasionally and tell us of her issues and I personally have told him to have her call us and we will get the car looked at.. She never shows or calls. Per our great reviews and customer satisfaction as our record shows we are absolutely here to help our customers.. Furthermore Her loan is currently in default as she hasn't made a payment and will be up for repossession soon as we have called several times and have had no response from ms. S[redacted]. I support many veterans and veterans causes so her implication that we are taking advantage of people is also unfounded.. You may contact band of brothers in [redacted] which is a group of veterans that we support constantly. We are here to help ms. S[redacted] if she would like to get her loan current and get her car fixed. But again we have offered this numerous times to no avail. She has also bashed us on other sites with bad reviews.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 8, 2015/10/27) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I did go to the company and met with Brad, who harassed me and refused to write out anything on the vehicle with discrepancies. I told him I was working with the Veteran's Organization out of Cleveland to see about having the vehicle repaired. Furthermore I stepped outside to see what exactly they were doing with the car. The man walked around it, then lifted it down. It fell off the wooden skids and I had to go to a local mechanic who graciously wrote a report for free on the vehicle's repairs and three of his employees fixed for the driver's side window. The car's frame was bent when the mechanic dropped it off the skids. Since my last visit to Penisula Ohio, I have not returned because when I asked to speak with Steve, the owner Brad refuses to allow me to speak with him. Additionally, I have received no calls from this company. I do not know what ties they have with Band of Brothers but it is not satisfactory. I served and have campaign medals. Regardless, I have taken the car to their Peninsula site only to be harassed, disrespected and treated less than anyone should be treated. I will be sending the other paper work - inspections with cost analysis. With the Sway bar, tie rod ends and especially the lower control arm broke the car should NEVER have left the lot. They knew I needed a reliable safe car. I purchased a new battery and the battery light comes on still.
I will send additional items to show the history of this dreadful experience. Steve, perhaps you should start reviewing who calls, because I stood in the office as Brad would not allow the caller to speak with you. Just as I've called for you months ago for help. I stopped seeking help after the treatment from Brad, and I do not feel it is in my best interest to spend any more time with him, hence this complaint filed.
I will be submitting future items to this complaint.
Final Business Response /* (4000, 13, 2015/11/23) */
We will absolutely help Tiffany fix this car... We did not get an A+ rating by taking advantage of customers as she says.... I'm not sure what mechanic dropped this car off a lift because it wasn't us... The employee she delay with that she felt "bullied" with is no longer employed here and I would love the chance to make this right... Giving her the title is not gonna happen... Thanks and let me know how I can help... Loan is still past due...

Thanks for your recent complaint ben...  We take these complaints very seriously as you can see from our great rating and will be more than happy to discuss this with you and take the appropriate actions....   please give me a call personally so we can discuss and come to a resolution...

quickly...  thanks you

On or About 6-7-17 Mr. [redacted] was referred to us by another customer. and bought a 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix from Towpath Motors for $2000 plus tax and title.  He was made aware at the time of purchase that this car had some rust on the lower edges and that the vehicle was being sold as-is...

no warranty expressed or implied.  Almost a month later he brought the vehicle back in saying there was a clunk in the rear which was a broken strut mount that would need welded on both sides because of rust.  He did not have the money upfront and through an agreement with us we agreed to fix it and accept payment at a later date which he did pay.  Mr. [redacted] then came in about a month later and said that his mechanic had told him the car wasn't safe because of the rust and he wanted his money back.  After inspecting the vehicle,  I explained that we stand behind the cars we sell and would be more than happy to give him credit of the sale price towards another vehicle if he wanted to pick out something else.   He picked out the 2001 Toyota Camry and was told numerous times that any vehicle he picks out is going to need repairs from time to time and no vehicle especially $2000 vehicles are perfect and won't need maintenance.  I explained to him that the camry was in pretty good shape and for the money he was looking to spend and would probably be a great car for him.  He decided after test driving to purchase the camry.  We traded his grand prix for only tax and title difference for the camry to try and help him out as he was just getting back on his feet.  He also needed payment terms on the tax and title because he didn't need have the money.   He agreed to these terms and that deal was finalized.  At that point what we do with the grand prix whether we fix it and sell it or sell it for parts or scrap it is of no concern of his.  We have tried to help Mr. [redacted] and went above and beyond to try and make sure he was in a good vehicle even though it was sold absolutely as-is no warranty expressed or implied, and we were under no obligation to do so.  I am sorry he feels as though we didn't hold up our end because he saw this traded in vehicle for sale but we did exactly what we agreed to and upheld our end.  We will not be refunding any more money to Mr. [redacted].
