Tows R Russ Reviews (1)

Review: [redacted], the owner of Tows R [redacted], towed my vehicle. This was a police tow and I did not have a choice of who towed the vehicle. My car is a BMW M3 that has been highly modified and has a low ride height. He was told repeatedly that he was going to damage my vehicle. He took the tow anyway, and sure enough, the underneath side of my formerly pristine $2000 custom bumper is severely scratched. Until that very day, this bumper has had a lower spoiler protecting the paint, it had not seen the light of day since I personally installed the bumper. That very day, I removed the spoiler and verified that the paint was untouched. When I spoke to him about the issue, he denied that the he damaged it and told me to take him to court. He was very condescending and accusatory.Desired Settlement: [redacted] did approximately $400-500 in damage to my vehicle by my estimation. I would be satisfied if he refunded my tow fee of $265. He towed my car about 1 mile and stored it about 8 hours, I don't think that's too much to ask.

To Whom It May Concern:

We received a complaint, ID# [redacted], in June regarding damage to a 2008 BMW. Mr. [redacted] stated that his vehicle was damaged while it was being towed. Attached are photos of the damage in question.

This vehicle was towed due to an arrest for suspicion of DUI. When Mr. [redacted] brought the damage to our attention, we did some investigating. Inspecting the photos, you can see there are multiple directional scratches on the lower valance. This would indicate that the vehicle was scraped multiple times at different angles. I can count at least ten different directions of scratches. This would lead me to believe that this vehicle had been scraped on several different occasions most likely from going in and out of driveways.

Additionally, according to the security guard at the establishment were the Mr. [redacted] was socializing, he witnessed Mr. [redacted] pulling out of the driveway at, let’s just say, a less than safe speed. In this process, the bottom of the car scraped the driveway as he was exiting. Unfortunately for the Mr. [redacted], this was done directly in front of an Orange Police officer which resulted in a traffic stop and ultimately his arrest.

If there had been one or two directional scratches, I might have given him the benefit of doubt. Having a body shop available, it would have been a minimal task to repair. However, after viewing the photos and speaking to the security guard at the establishment Mr. [redacted] was patronizing, I believe he is trying to get some type of reimbursement for the cost he had incurred from the night’s adventures.

Our position is: We did not damage his vehicle. We will not reimburse Mr. [redacted] in any way.

Sincerely,

[redacted], MGR

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Not one person at Tows R [redacted] knows which establishments I did or did not frequent that night. Additionally, where I parked was not anywhere near where a security guard could see me exiting any driveway. So this portion of the response is a flat out lie. Additionally, the multiple directions of scratches were all caused by [redacted] when he scraped my car multiple times. Until that very day, I had a protective lower splitter covering the underside of the bumper. I personally had that bumper painted and installed and that area of the bumper had never seen the light of day. I was under the car that very day when I personally removed the splitter and the bumper was pristine. Had the splitter been installed still, he would have completely destroyed it as it is lower than the bumper. I am very accustomed to not scraping the car due to the splitter and low ride height. With it removed, the car gains about 1" of ground clearance so there is no way that I scraped the car 10 times in one day. More over, I absolutely did not scrape the car at all.

In regards to the reason for the tow, my BAC that night was 0.02 so it's not as if I was extremely intoxicated and damaged my own car.

His bold face lie in his response and even mentioning the nature of the tow just goes to show his shady nature. He damaged my pride and joy and refuses to accept responsibility and that's the bottom line.

Regards,

[redacted]t [redacted]
