This company is a subcontractor participating in the remodeling of our house, installing fireplaces and a garage door. Heeding Washington State’s Labor and Industries’ guidance at http://www.lni.wa.gov/IPUB/625-017-000.pdf, we had given them a 50% payment upfront before the work was started, but have not paid them the remainder yet because they have not yet completed their work. Yet, they keep demanding an upfront payment for the rest of the work before completing it and have just informed us that they sent this to a collections agency, even though they still have not finished the work and are refusing to commit to a time to finish it. The fireplaces they had installed were not functional for months. On June 21st, our general contractor informed them that the fireplaces were not working and asked them to finish the job. On July 7th, a Cressy representative finally showed up to hook up the fireplaces. But he left them still not fully functional (remotes not working), saying that he has

Cressy Door replaced a motor for our garage doorAt that time nothing was said about replacing springs or consideration of replacing the springs, or the ramifications of NOT replacing the springsWhen the first spring broke, I was unaware of it because the door continued to work wellThen the second one brokeCressy came out to replace the springsShortly thereafter the motor began to have a strange soundCressy told me that I caused something to break in the motor because the I used the doorCressy now wants to charge me a new trip charge and more hour charges and the cost of a new Head(?)They continue to blame me for the problem and I feel if they had discussed the replacing of springs when they replaced the very old motor, we would not have this situationI will definitely not recommend Cressy Door Co

We purchased a gas fireplace from Cressy last summer as part of an addition we put on our home We had MAJOR issues with the installation of our fireplace:
*The installers showed up and let themselves in our home without our permission I heard a noise and found them wandering through our home looking for the installation location
*The installer used a gasoline powered chain saw inside our home to trim down the frame work to make room for the the fireplace Not only was the smell offensive, the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning was completely disregarded
*Last but certainly not least, the installer, ***, failed to tighten the gas supply line when connecting it to the fireplace and never tested for a gas leak When he finished the installation, he left the fireplace running Our children were playing in the room for 2+ hours after the install - it is terrifying think about what could have happened during this time We then turned the fireplace off and left for a few hours Little did we know that the gas was leaking into our home at an alarming rate When we came home we smelled a HEAVY gas odor in our garage before entering our home which was filled with gas We called and left a message with our salesman from Cressy, called PSE and shut off the supply value to the fireplace PSE came out and assessed the situation and determined that the connection was so loose between the supply line and the fireplace that he could spin the connection nut with one finger The PSE technician then 'Red Tagged' our house deeming it a danger It took over hours to get the gas out of our home The Cressy salesman finally returned our call more than hours after PSE had contained the situation
After the installation was complete and the supply line was finally connected appropriately and tested, I called Cressy to request financial compensation given the severity of the situation I first spoke with our sales person who promised to get back to me After about a week of waiting, I contacted the sales manager and again was told that he would circle back to me after talking to the sales person and the owner I heard nothing for another week I then contacted the owner who knew nothing of the situation He apologized and shared that he would compensate us for the installation I later received an email stating he was willing to credit us approximately 7% for the 'inconvenience' that the installation had caused us I replied to his email and stated that the situation was well beyond an inconvenience The negligence of the installer had put our family at severe risk I suggested that a 20% refund would be more inline with our expectations We later noticed a 7% credit on our credit card
It is pathetic that Cressy doesn't appreciate the danger this situation put our family in
