I just received the letter you sent in regards to the complaint you received from [redacted]. I haven’t spoken to him directly since they were here buying the truck on 08/12/2017, but I have spoken to his sales person who has been in contact with him several times about the alleged issues he...

has been having with the 2002 Silverado 2500. My first instructions after hearing about him wanting the transmission fluid changed, and a sensor replaced, were to have him bring the truck in so we could look at it and determine what we could do to help. He told her he wasn’t willing to drive that far and wanted us to just send him a check to pay the bill instead. I was not willing to do that due to the fact that I never had the opportunity to have my service department check the vehicle out to verify these issues, and the signed Wisconsin Buyers Guide clearly states there is no warranty vehicle sold as is. I heard from the salesperson again a week or two later about some issue with the head gaskets. Again, I told her to tell [redacted] to bring the truck in and I would work with him on getting the repairs completed at a significant discount. He declined again. I really have no evidence that there is actually anything wrong with the vehicle, and have just been asked to send checks. [redacted] paid $13,500.00 for a 15 year old truck with 166,000 miles on the odometer, (not even sure about that because it is exempt from odometer disclosure after 10 years), and I have repair orders for a couple thousand dollars worth of repairs we made in our shop before it was sold, and the customer that traded it in also showed us bills for several more thousands of dollars that he had done recently before trading it in. I have a hard time believing that this vehicle is having all of these problems, but if it is, I would have been willing to help if the customer would have been willing to bring it in for my GM Certified techs to look at it, and advise me on what needed to be done. There was no warranty on this vehicle of any kind, and [redacted] himself states that he didn’t have any problems for three months. There was nothing wrong with the truck when it was purchased, and I have no idea what he has done with it since he’s owned it. It is a turbo diesel engine, so I assume it has been modified in some fashion for it to have blown head gaskets if it indeed does. Thanks for your time [redacted]
