however, [redacted] , made the final decision on all parts that were purchased for this project Prices were agreed upon before parts were purchased According to the texts that I have referenced pertaining to this matter, [redacted] was very happy and very excited about this project and the work that was being done until I would not agree to illegally cut the catalytic converters off his car At that point in time, things became very ugly [redacted] threatened myself as well as my employees with physical harm At that point in time, I decided I should finish what I had agreed to do and no more as the project seemed to continually evolve into more work At this time, [redacted] , came in and politely spoke with me about the project I then agreed to help her finish the project as much as possible and pick up the pieces Apparently, [redacted] was making all the decisions without [redacted] knowledge of the work that was being done However, [redacted] was the one paying the bill [redacted] and I came up with a plan of how to get the vehicle back on the road with minimal expense from where [redacted] left it The [redacted] family became upset the vehicle was left in my secure lot over the weekend instead of not immediately being brought back into the shop on Friday, at which time I received more threats from [redacted] , threatening to break into my facility and take the car The first thing Monday morning, I removed [redacted] ’ Mustang from my secured lot onto public street parking as well as all related used parts for pickup which they did not pick up the vehicle for days After the vehicle was finally picked up, [redacted] demanded all receipts for the entire project, expressing her concern about the Eagle rotating assembly saying she found something similar for less money online I gave her that part number, [redacted] , of which was a special order rotating assembly because the motor was already bored once I also explained to her the difference that the kit [redacted] picked out was a complete forged kit with flywheel and harmonic balancer; the kit she saw was a basic cast kit that did not include all necessary parts I also told her the purchase price of $and again reminded her that [redacted] had chosen these parts himself as well as all major parts that he can certainly verify what was purchased as he saw them before assembly Today, I checked the Jegs website, and the price of that rotating assembly kit is $1868.99.As far as not starting said vehicle, the vehicle had an antiquated aftermarket fuel injection system which was not properly tuned when the vehicle arrived Despite my recommendation of upgrading to modern aftermarket fuel injection or getting said antiquated fuel injection working properly before proceeding, [redacted] stated he did not want to get the vehicle properly tuned twice as he wanted to make performance upgrades The plan from the beginning was to make the performance upgrades and then properly tune and adjust the fuel injection to work properly, especially focusing on the cold start portion which seemed to be the worst of the problem After the work was done, the [redacted] insisted on starting the vehicle, of which I strongly discouraged as this would not be good for a rebuilt motor and there was the possibility of damage However, I did briefly start it for them to assure them all systems worked – fuel, spark, oil pressure, etc Since the [redacted] have had their vehicle, [redacted] has threatened me with attorneys as well as Revdex.com claims if I did not provide some specific information pertaining to the mechanical repairs that the tune shop may need Despite being threatened, I politely provided said information as well as suggesting [redacted] provide my phone number to the tune shop for any further information they may need.I have gone over the invoices pertaining to the [redacted] ’ mechanical repairs All repairs were done on a time and material basis as I explained to [redacted] and that he was in charge of this build He was the one to make all decisions of what was done as well as which parts were used After itemizing all parts for the entire mechanical portion of the build, I came up with a total of $9130, of which $was the used high performance heads as well as the $sublet machine work which brings a total of $charged for all new parts I have also gone over all of my receipts in this file, and I have come up with a total of $that I spent for the mechanical repairs which calculates out to a markup of barely over 22% The industry standard being 30%, I could have charged them substantially more which would have been a total of $ After all the trouble the [redacted] s have been since I would not illegally cut the catalytic converters off their vehicle, I wish they could appreciate the excellent craftsmanship and value they received while here at Toyland Auto, not to mention the professional, courteous response to the disrespectful and hostile physical threatsI have saved all of the texts and voicemail messages received from the [redacted] If a representative from the Revdex.com would like to stop in, I would be happy to share these and any receipts with themIf I can be of any more assistance, please feel free to call me or email me My direct line is [redacted] Thank you,Gil W***Toyland Auto

March 27, 2017To Whom It May Concern:In reference to assigned ID of [redacted], I apologize for the delayed response on this matter, of which I take very seriously.  I did not receive this information until the morning of March 27, 2017.  In response to said complaint, first I will address...

the door and paint complaint.  We discussed the repairs of which I gave them a quote of $3800 for labor, materials and parts, of which I completed that work as quoted.  Once completed, they expressed that they were extremely happy with the work for which I gave them a rough itemized bill of $3800 plus tax for a total of $4108, invoice date 11/17/2016, invoice #[redacted].  At no time have I heard any complaints about the paint and body work until now.  As far as the mechanical repairs, [redacted] and I discussed repairs to be made which changed each time we spoke.  We started out with simply checking the vitals of the engine such as compression ratio.  As time went on, [redacted] decided he wanted a high performance, near racecar level build.  He said, quote, he “wanted the car to scare him.”  Through our many discussions and texts, [redacted] provided me with all major part numbers and prices for this build.  I provided some input on options; however, [redacted], made the final decision on all parts that were purchased for this project.  Prices were agreed upon before parts were purchased.  According to the texts that I have referenced pertaining to this matter, [redacted] was very happy and very excited about this project and the work that was being done until I would not agree to illegally cut the catalytic converters off his car.  At that point in time, things became very ugly.  [redacted] threatened myself as well as my employees with physical harm.  At that point in time, I decided I should finish what I had agreed to do and no more as the project seemed to continually evolve into more work.  At this time, [redacted], came in and politely spoke with me about the project.  I then agreed to help her finish the project as much as possible and pick up the pieces.  Apparently, [redacted] was making all the decisions without [redacted] knowledge of the work that was being done.  However, [redacted] was the one paying the bill.  [redacted] and I came up with a plan of how to get the vehicle back on the road with minimal expense from where [redacted] left it.  The [redacted] family became upset the vehicle was left in my secure lot over the weekend instead of not immediately being brought back into the shop on Friday, at which time I received more threats from [redacted], threatening to break into my facility and take the car.  The first thing Monday morning, I removed [redacted]’ 1994 Mustang from my secured lot onto public street parking as well as all related used parts for pickup which they did not pick up the vehicle for 2 days.  After the vehicle was finally picked up, [redacted] demanded all receipts for the entire project, expressing her concern about the Eagle rotating assembly saying she found something similar for less money online.  I gave her that part number, [redacted], of which was a special order rotating assembly because the motor was already bored once.  I also explained to her the difference that the kit [redacted] picked out was a complete forged kit with flywheel and harmonic balancer; the kit she saw was a basic cast kit that did not include all necessary parts.  I also told her the purchase price of $1845 and again reminded her that [redacted] had chosen these parts himself as well as all major parts that he can certainly verify what was purchased as he saw them before assembly.  Today, I checked the Jegs website, and the price of that rotating assembly kit is $1868.99.As far as not starting said vehicle, the vehicle had an antiquated aftermarket fuel injection system which was not properly tuned when the vehicle arrived.  Despite my recommendation of upgrading to modern aftermarket fuel injection or getting said antiquated fuel injection working properly before proceeding, [redacted] stated he did not want to get the vehicle properly tuned twice as he wanted to make performance upgrades.  The plan from the beginning was to make the performance upgrades and then properly tune and adjust the fuel injection to work properly, especially focusing on the cold start portion which seemed to be the worst of the problem.  After the work was done, the [redacted] insisted on starting the vehicle, of which I strongly discouraged as this would not be good for a rebuilt motor and there was the possibility of damage.  However, I did briefly start it for them to assure them all systems worked – fuel, spark, oil pressure, etc.  Since the [redacted] have had their vehicle, [redacted] has threatened me with attorneys as well as Revdex.com claims if I did not provide some specific information pertaining to the mechanical repairs that the tune shop may need.  Despite being threatened, I politely provided said information as well as suggesting [redacted] provide my phone number to the tune shop for any further information they may need.I have gone over the invoices pertaining to the [redacted]’ mechanical repairs.  All repairs were done on a time and material basis as I explained to [redacted] and that he was in charge of this build.  He was the one to make all decisions of what was done as well as which parts were used.  After itemizing all parts for the entire mechanical portion of the build, I came up with a total of $9130, of which $1800 was the used high performance heads as well as the $540 sublet machine work which brings a total of $6790 charged for all new parts.  I have also gone over all of my receipts in this file, and I have come up with a total of $5548.12 that I spent for the mechanical repairs which calculates out to a markup of barely over 22%.  The industry standard being 30%, I could have charged them substantially more which would have been a total of $7212.40.  After all the trouble the [redacted]s have been since I would not illegally cut the catalytic converters off their vehicle, I wish they could appreciate the excellent craftsmanship and value they received while here at Toyland Auto, not to mention the professional, courteous response to the disrespectful and hostile physical threats. I have saved all of the texts and voicemail messages received from the [redacted].  If a representative from the Revdex.com would like to stop in, I would be happy to share these and any receipts with them. If I can be of any more assistance, please feel free to call me or email me.  My direct line is [redacted]   Thank you,Gil W[redacted]Toyland Auto

I am rejecting this response because:I am perplexed on why this guy, the owner can't understand why we would want the receipts for parts we purchased? In case of mechanical failure in the future with these parts, we have no legal leg to stand on without proof of purchase to envokeOur rights to the warranty. 22% markup on parts that are already expensive is the reason auto repair establishment get a bad reputation. Secondly, I didn't complain about the body work. We were happy with the work, it's the invoicing that's vague and does not itemize how much time was spent on each of the body repairs,( replace door, refit door skins, paint the door and blend into existing paint color). When it get down to the brass tacks, I feel regardless of anything else, we the consumer, the people who paid on time and even had my account over-paid, are entitled to our receipts for parts and the 22% he overcharged and admitted to. Gil is a nice guy but I've never been denied proof of purchase for anything so I am a little concerned as to why it's so difficult for him to give me what any other place of business would have to issue in doing.

I am rejecting this response because: Personally, you had me sign a piece of paper stating that no parts you put on my engine were covered by any sort if warranty. Maybe the parts that were ordered online came to you but they were purchased by me and I feel I have the right to ownership. It's my car, my parts and the proof of purchase should also be mine. I'm tired of this back and forth rhetoric that you seem to enjoy and you need to do the correct and businesslike thing and give me what is asked for. Again, you have set shop prices that should cover and pay for time spent doing anything on a customers vehicle and yet you feel you are giving me a bargain at 22% upcharge!?!  For instance, you ordered our part that was approx. 1900.00 and then charge me 2200.00. Just because you tell me what you spent on such part is just talk. You could have paid for the part that was 1000.00 but how would I know?  You won't produce the proof! When I go to the grocery store as you say, there is a mark up, but at least I can see what the price is. I am still demanding my proof of purchases for all parts and my 22% that you overcharged me. You know your hiding the facts and that's why you won't budge. Is this all the Revdex.com does is let people banter back and forth or does someone step in and say "enough is enough".
Sincerely,
[redacted]
