Toyota Scion of Boardman

Review: On 4/1/2014, I called Toyota of Boardman about a 2013 Certified Use Camry SE. Toyota of Boardman had the price listed as $19,893 on both their website as well as on autotrader.com. I asked if there was any room for negotiation and was told there won't be a lot, but they will see what they can do for me. [redacted] with the internet sales team took my number and said he was going to talk to his manager about my proposed price of $19300 + taxes and fees. He later called back saying that the posted price was wrong, and should have been $21,586. He said the reason for that was due to the fact that the car was yet to be certified and thus does not reflect the cost of certification. The problem with that is that the car is listed (as of now) as a certified vehicle on[redacted] as well as their website for $19,893 as stated above. This to me at best is dishonest and should not be allowed to happen. I watched that car for about three days on theirs as well as [redacted] website. And I highly doubt I was the first to call about it. For them to advertise it at one price and raise it when I call about it has got to be illegal.Desired Settlement: At the very lease, Toyota of Boardman should be reminded that they are not allowed to be dishonest of their prices.

The disputed car has a Navigation system and a Sunroof which I will say was not priced into the initial advertised price (Note, their initial ad did not mention those things). I am willing to say the initial advertised price was an honest mistake based on the prices I have seen for that version of the Camry SE with Navigation and Sunroof. Given this information I am willing to drop my complaint[redacted]). Again, having net with Toyota Scion of Boardman in person, I am willing to say they are a nice company that made an honest mistake.

Also, in the same instance, the dealer has the right to change the price at any time (like most commodities). We never want these situations to happen, and we will always try to learn from it.
