Toyota Volvo Jaguar of Warren Reviews (11)

Review: I purchased a car from this dealership. They told me it was a Certified car and under Toyota's parameters if the tires have half their tread life or less the tires should be changed. On the test drive the salesperson told me two tires had been installed. The day after I bought the car the tire pressure light came on. After several attempts at putting air in the front right tire I took it to my mechanic who informed me there was a nail in the tire and he plugged it. I realize the nail may have happened on my way home from the dealership. However, two days later when I had to return to my mechanic because the tire pressure light came on again, he looked at the tire more closely and discovered two plugs on the shoulder of the tire and he told me the tread was less than half of the tire's life. My mechanic also said shoulders should never be plugged. I called the service department and they told me the tires were never changed in the certification process. The dealership put several thousand miles on the car between the time they posted it for sale and the time I purchased it. They should have put new tires on the car before selling it as a Certified car - an expense I should not have had within such a short time of buying a Certified car. I contend if the car was Certified it was not up to Toyota's published standards and therefore their sales practice is misleading. I called Toyota's corporate office on 11/25 and they left a message for their liaison who, according to Toyota's process, was supposed to call me within three days. He did not call nor has the owner, the salesman, or the GM - no one has returned my phone calls and I have left messages starting 11/25.Desired Settlement: I would like the dealer to reimburse me for the tires I purchased for a car they claim was Certified. The receipt is attached.

Hello, I apologize for my delay. I took some actual time off over the holidays. The GM finally called me and inspected my tires. While I am not thrilled with his position I would like to withdraw my complaint. Thank you, [redacted]

Car was not in the "excellent" one owner condition as stated. dent in passenger door, gas tank was not full as promised.

BEWARE BUYERS

I have bought a 2011 Toyota Sienna on 09/26/14. The first issue is that after I took it for a test drive, and while I was still there considering to purchase the vehicle, some one else took it for a test drive and chipped the windshield, and some how they offered me 50 dollars off the total price to fix it. I didn't know much about Toyota cars that when you first turn on it will show maintenance required for a couple seconds. I just thought when you turn the car on that happens. Anyway we purchased the car and we where assured nothing is wrong, and the dealership owner's brother took good care of it. On the way home we found out that the front, and back seat are broke. Whats is really crazy is that they covered chipped paint with something that washed off in the rain. So I decided to take it to the near by Toyota dealer, and I was surprised to find out.

1- Oil was not changed it was past due.

2- Two broken seats.

3- Broken glove box.

4- Broken Radio Antenna.

5- Needs rear new breaks. (Safety Issue).

6- Even the tires needed air.

7 - Paint chips was covered with something, and when it rained it washed away.

8- All headphones where broke, and I was assured it was not broken just missing the cover Pads.

My question is does Toyota have a moral standard that makes its dealers obeyed by? After spending 28000$ , and you find all those problems its like a slap on the face. no wonder why he wouldn't get it certified . Even when I went to the Toyota dealer in my state he was very surprised that they wouldn't certify the vehicle nor fix all those problems. I told them I am going through a life and death surgery, and please assure that everything was okay, but I learned my lesson that I am naive to believe a dealer specially that dealership. I was told it was owned by the dealership owner's brother, and later found out its a Lease vehicle so I guess his brother will take a break, and I am the one who got screwed. I share my story so people would be careful from such unethical business practices.

Good Honest Dealership in my opinion. Recently purchased a pre-owned late model Tacoma from them, and am very happy with the overall buying experience. I drove 2 1/2 hours to purchase from Toyota of Warren thru their salesman Nick, and I'm glad I did. I got a very good price, fast friendly service, and they even stayed late to accommodate me.

I have since taken the truck to my trusted local mechanic and he has verified everything that the dealer told me. Truck is in great shape.

Thanks! I highly recommend this dealership!!

Good afternoon:

We have reviewed the complaint on file as well as our records in relation to the work done on the vehicle in question. We do not feel that we misrepresented the work done or the work requested by the customer. We would be happy to discuss the situation with the customer and re-evaluate the alleged issues with the vehicle and the work performed in order to accommodate the customer and resolve the issues. Thank you for your consideration.

I was told it was owned by the brother, and later found out its was a Lease vehicle. Even when I wanted to cancel my extended warranty they did not make it easy on me. Called 3 times , and then they told me we spoke to Toyota, and we took permission to upgrade you from Gold to platinum. I told the finance agent please I would like to cancel it, and still they did not cancel it. I told him I am willing to drive to Ohio to cancel it, and he told me no need I will send you an e-mail for cancellation. I did fill it out, signed it, e-mailed it, and never heard from them. I have asked for confirmation of the cancellation before the 30 days end. Even the customer service is Horrible.Desired Settlement: I like them to pay for fixing the glove box, Antenna, rear chair, rear brakes, at least give me one working headphone all of them are broke. I fixed the front passenger chair at the dealer. I would like them also to confirm my cancellation for this extended warranty. I have asked several times to cancel it before the 30 days was up. Thanks

With respect to [redacted] complaint, we have reviewed the information from his file. We would be happy to review the problems that he has had with the vehicle to determine if there are specific items that we should or could take care of for him. We believed the vehicles systems were in good working order at the time that he took delivery of the vehicle. We have cancelled the service contract as of August of 2014 and the proceeds from the cancellation have been applied to his bank loan. Please feel free to have him contact us to see if there are specifics about the vehicle that we can help him with.

Review: Toyota service department stated rear brakes on car were 1mm and needed immediate repair for safety. This was during 40,000 service with car brought in at 40,251 miles. There was no indication brakes were bad.No noise, warning lights,or variation in braking sensation.Told brakes could give out at any time.Concerned for family safety I agreed to replace brakes immediately. At home I saw the inspection paper was not attached.I requested that paper and all previous inspection papers. At my previous service at 35,397 miles my brakes were fine.Brakes fine at 30,109 mile inspection too.Rear brake pads were at 7mm each time.My concern was how can my car brakes go bad so quickly with no warning? I wanted more information. Toyota service said my 40k inspection would be mailed, but that they keep no record of previous inspections after 6 months. Paper I got in mail said at 40,251 miles my rear brake pads were at 0mm and 1mm.My car brakes were fine with no warnings of a 0mm pad. That is metal on metal. How can brakes give out in less than 5,000 miles with no warning? I have called and emailed Toyota and requested more documentation to explain what happened with my 2012 Prius V, because I was concerned this was a serious safety issue. Given the lack of response from the managers at Toyota I feel the work done on my car was likely unnecessary. If cars required brake work every 5,000 miles it would raise concerns not only for the consumer, but the dealer AND manufacturer of the car.Desired Settlement: Bill at 40,251 mile service was $[redacted]. Refund requested for unnecessary brake work done. $[redacted] credit to credit card requested. At this time, given the behavior of this dealership,I no longer believe the work done on my car was necessary. I should have been contacted immediately by the general manager or service manager about the safety concerns I brought up regarding the supposed rapid decline of my car's braking system with no warning. I understand brakes wear out,but they typically do not go from good to bad in less than 5,000 (highway) miles with no warning. If they did then it would certainly be a very serious safety concern.
