Tracker Boat Center Reviews (3)

Mrs. [redacted], We wanted to respond to this complaint in a timely manner. The customer brought the boat to us on August 8th, 2014 after purchasing the boat from an individual. He wanted us to check it out and make service recommendations. He told us the trim motor on the port engine had...

rusted out and that he had water in the gear case. We replaced the rusted out tilt and trim motor, checked compression on both engine’s , resealed his gear case, installed new water pump kits, tuned up both engine’s and test ran the engine’s in our test tank. Customer picked up the boat on September 4th, 2014. He brought the boat back to us on September 15th, 2014. He said they took the boat out and the port engine controls were stiff and after running 3-5 minutes on plane he got alarms on both engines and both engine’s went into guardian mode reducing power. We hooked each engine up to the Mercury CDS computer and found port engine TPS sensor out of range and block pressure low. Found thermostats only opening partially and the poppet valve diaphragm was bad. Replaced components and checked okay in test tank. Checked starboard motor and found a shift switch that was bad. Replaced shift switch and river tested and after running 5 minutes dropped cylinders #4 & #6, tested and found coils bad. Replaced coils and replaced water pressure line that was stopped up. River tested and both motors running proper temperatures and no alarms. Customer requested river test before paying for work. We took the customer to the Neches river to river test it and both motors ran properly and to the customer’s satisfaction. The customer came back to the store and paid for the work on November 18th, 2014. We have not heard anything from him until 6/2/2015 when he came in and said he was having the same problem. [redacted] our Service Manager told the customer to bring it in and we would be glad to check it out for him. The customer said it was the same problem and we should fix it at no charge. The customer was told if it was something we did wrong we would cover it and wouldn’t charge him to evaluate it. He was also told that there is a 30 day warranty on labor. Water pumps and thermostats are maintenance item’s and are not covered under manufacturer’s warranties after the first 6 months. The engines are 15 years old on this boat and anything could have happened in the 7 months since we last had the boat in our shop. We cannot help the customer unless he brings it in to us. Respectfully,  [redacted]GENERAL MANAGERTRACKER BOAT CENTER

Mr. and Mrs. [redacted],We would like to address all of your concerns as soon as possible. Please bring the boat to us when you can and we will see what needs to be done. The first repair was done under the original owners name in order to get the parts replaced under factory good will. Work was finished...

in August 2015. The warranty had not been transferred to your name from the original owners name. Mercruiser covered the parts under good will and not the labor. The second repair was under Mr. [redacted]'s name and we found an oil leak at the oil pan and water was leaking at the transom. Tracker covered the transom leak which required removing the drive assembly and rebuilding the transom at the fiberglass shop under good will. We did a 100 hour service as Mr. [redacted] requested. Mercruiser was contacted concerning the oil leak and good will was declined because engine was to far out of the warranty period. The only charges were for the labor and parts for the 100 hour service and labor and parts to fix the oil pan leak. The engine had to be removed to change the oil pan gasket. This work was finished in May 2016. We would like to try and help with your concerns as soon as possible but we need to see the boat to address your concerns. Please feel free to contact us at any time. Thanks,[redacted]General Manager[redacted]
