Upon the initial installation of a full home of windows and one French door in 2012, there were several interior wood window frames damagedThe damaged areas were simply filled in with wood putty, putty that did not match the existing woodThe winter of 2014, the French door leaked and the blinds inside each of the window panels broke; this lead to months of phone calls to Mike's Windows before I received a responseAfter receiving a response, it took several weeks before the company came out to replace the window panes The workers had to pry the windows out of the actual doors, damaging and denting the unit in several placesThere was also a glass pane broken in the process, leaving glass everywhere for me to clean up, they did not take that initiativeWhen a phone call was placed to the owner of Mike's Window's to make him aware of the damage, he stated he would call back After days I placed another call to him, only to be told that his workers denied damaging our unit and he believed themHe would not come to my home to inspect the door unitHe simply stated that there was nothing he was going to doI asked for the direct proof of purchase for all the windows and door units so I would not have to deal with him againHe stated he would mail it, which I am waiting for at this time This is unacceptable workmanship and poor quality of workI now have to replace the entire French door, due to the damage, The initial contract for the work did state there is a lifetime material warranty
Mike's windows in Big Rapids. I would not recommend this place at all. They installed my windows in 2000 with a fifty year parts warranty and a lifetime glass warranty that said the sealed glass unit is warranted for seal failure for the life of the window against moisture collection or dust collection between the interior glass surfaces. Well I have 2 windows that are all fogged up and need replaced. I called and talked to [redacted] and she said that [redacted] said the window manufacture "Paramount Window MFG., INC" and "[redacted] Brother" went out of business. So he won't stand behind his warranty that he signed. I told her that if I put a roof on her house and the shingles fell off in three months but the shingle manufacture went out of business in the mean time, if she would expect me to replace the roof? She said yes but he wasn't going to stand behind his warranty because his brother went out of business. They want $150.00 plus the price of the glass to fix them. That is no warranty, so if you are thinking of getting your windows replaced look around because this guys warranty will not hold up. I was told this a while ago and now decided to get them fix and now found out it is true. Gotta love the internet where you can get the word out.
