Review: I have been defrauded by this travel agent. I made a payment of 5K+ to Trade Sky Travel in Jackson Heights, NY on 5/**/13. I had made travel plans to travel to India with my husband and 2 kids on July **. The lady who answered the phone sounded very professional and took care of the booking. She told me I will get the tickets after my check clears and when the check cleared, she started telling me stories/lies that I can’t get my tickets until 2 weeks before the travel date. 2 weeks before my travel date which is July *, she disappeared. The owner, I realized, has defrauded many people like me. Even the DA is unable to arrest him. I have also been told the guy does not have any property in his name. I AM COMPLETELY HELPLESS! Is there anything that can be done?Desired Settlement: IMMEDIATE CASH REFUND

Review: Dear Sir/MadamI paid $6150 to Al Hidya Inc/ Trade Sky Travel to make an arrangement to perform UMRAH (Muslim pilgrimage) in Saudi Arabia and travel to our home country Bangladesh. The company assured that they will make necessary arrangements to buy plane tickets, arrange Saudi VISA and accommodations in Saudi Arabia. I send all necessary documents along with a personal bank check of $6150 (Wachovia/Wells Fargo check no [redacted]) via FedEx Tracking number [redacted] and they received the check and all documents on 7/*/2013. Once they had my money and documents, their communication become spotty. They were not responding on time to my email and telephone inquiries. On 7/**/2013 they called me an informed that they bought my plane ticket but did not give me a clear answer about Saudi Visa status or Hotel information in Saudi Arabia. I demanded a firm answer on their travel arrangements since the day of departure was approaching and left multiple voice mail on their office answering machine. On 7/**/2014 an agent from their office called and informed me that they are unable to arrange for the visa and will not be able to refund me in next 3 months. I become suspicious and looked into the internet and found that Saudi UMRAH visa for 2013 was closed on July [redacted] ([redacted]). I drafted a demand letter on 7/**/2013 and send them via registered postal mail (USPS tracking number [redacted]). USPS online tracking shows that they received my demand letter to refund my $6150 on August [redacted] 2013. I did not receive any response to my demand latter or any communication from this company. Based on their communication history I strongly believe this is a fraudulent act. I therefore request your assistance to recover my loss.Sincerely yours [redacted]Desired Settlement: Refund of $6150

Review: I bought airline tickets for $9310.00 from the above mentioned business back in February, 2013 to travel in June,2013. They called me on the day of travel that the tickets had some problems so that they would give me tickets to another airline. I bought seven tickets from them and they provided me with three tickets and for the other four tickets they never refunded the money. They owe me $5550.00 for four tickets. I called them several times with no answer. I personally went to their business location few times; found the doors locked. I went to the local precinct to file a complaint. They advised me to go to the Queens Civil Court to sue them. The court gave me an impression that to sue them would not bring a favorable outcome for me. By the way, I contacted Dept. of Consumer Affairs and they could not even able to talk or had any correspondence with them.Desired Settlement: Refund of my money, $5550.00.

Review: In April 2013, we contacted Trade Sky Travel to purchase airline tickets. They made travel reservations in our names (5 people in all) to travel from [redacted] to [redacted], Sri Lanka ([redacted]) on June [redacted] returning July [redacted]. Trade Sky Travel asked for a cash deposit into their [redacted] Account. We deposited $7425.00. They sent us a receipt for it. The tickets were not purchased. We found out about it when they contacted us on 6/** saying there was a problem with the contract between 2 airlines we would be using, which are [redacted] and [redacted], and so we could not travel on June [redacted]. The travel agent told us to wait to find out about leaving the first week in July. We talked with the airlines to find out about this contractual issue, however, they both said there were not any contract issues between the airlines. The airlines told us the tickets were not purchased. They could see our reservations but told us it wasn't paid in time for us to be confirmed and booked. We applied for visas, which was a total of $120. The children received travel vaccines, which was total of $435. We prepared ourselves for the vacation, but they call us and tell us we could not travel a week before we were supposed to go.Desired Settlement: We want refund of our money.
