Obviously, you are not interested in providing good customer service or you'd accept responsibility for the cost of the leak of the pinion rackWe're done with your excusesWe will never buy from you again nor will we offer any positive feedback if asked

November 12, 2017Dear Revdex.com,In reference to the follow-up letter sent by the customer regarding the complaint on the 2010 [redacted]. This vehicle was purchased with a [redacted] Warranty only (effective 9/11/17), and was sold by Trades Cars and Trucks AS IS, signed by the customer.Trades Cars and Trucks initial response that included dates, repair orders, Bill of Sale, Warranty, BuyersGuide, and disclosure are supported by factual truths and accuracy.Trades Cars and Trucks has no repair facility on site; it is strictly a used car sales facility; therefore Tradesdid sublet the diagnostics and repairs of the 2010 [redacted] to [redacted]. After review, the rearstruts were leaking and were replaced at no cost to the customer; Trades did pay the entire bill.Regarding the rack and pinion, there were no leaks found at that time of service. As the [redacted]Warranty was effective 9/11/17, there was no reason or benefit for either Trades Cars and Trucks or[redacted] to "cover up" any leak, especially one that is covered under the warranty contract.Trades Cars and Trucks employee did meet the customers on Sunday, 9/24/17 at Trades location to takethe vehicle for service at [redacted]. The vehicle was repaired and returned to Trades with no problems. In my 30 years experience in the used car industry, I have never been aware of "oil pads"! Especially ona high pressure rack and pinion steering. This is an impossible repair or patch on this particular unit.We became familiar with [redacted] earlier in March 2017, when another customer hadpurchased a 2008 [redacted] from Trades Cars and Trucks. This particular customer came back afterpurchase with an oil leak. We suggested he go to [redacted] for diagnostics; however, he found theirrepair quote to be quite expensive. At that time, he got a 2nd opinion from [redacted], whichwas more reasonable, and repaired the car to the customer's satisfaction. The customer's fault began when the service and warranty repair appointment was made at [redacted] byTrades Cars and Trucks, and the customer chose to take the vehicle to [redacted] instead, withoutnotifying Trades for (5) days. This irresponsible decision by the customer, leaves Trades Cars and Truckscompletely not liable or responsible for any and all costs. These repairs would have been covered underthe [redacted] Warranty with little to no out of pocket expense to the customer. On 10/12/17, when the customer dropped the car off at [redacted], they knew nothing about any oilpads being placed around the rack and pinions. Therefore, the customer statement that "they were notcomfortable returning the car to Trades or [redacted] for another repair", is untrue and unfactual!Again, the customer chose [redacted], which is very expensive, rather than utilizing the servicesavailable through Trades Cars and Trucks and the Warranty Company. After reviewing the original complaint and examining the repair order from [redacted], the customerstated $9,000 worth of repairs were needed, and that the warranty company paid a portion of that. However, the actual repair bill was $4,933.71. Customers statement on 11/7/17 states that they wantTrades to pay for the rack and pinion, which in fact, the warranty company had paid their portion(attached) as follows: $315 for Labor; $535 for Parts; $6.11 for Fluids, totaling $846.11. [redacted]Repair Bill, page 3 states: "client states to replace the power steering rack".Trades Cars and Trucks has no knowledge as to whether the customer contacted [redacted] Warranty beforehaving repairs done, because of covered components that were completely overlooked such as: BallJoint Left - $135.88; Ball Joint Right and Lower Joint Assembly - $368.71. This oversight on thecustomers part is out of Trades Cars and Trucks controll The following is what should have been thetotal cost for repairs....Hydrosteering part #[redacted] is listed online from [redacted]for $1,274.86 and Labor at [redacted] of 4.5 hrs. at $135/hr. (which included ball joints and lower jointassembly) totaled $607.50. The total cost of the repair was $1,882.36 minus the [redacted] Warrantypayment of $846.11, with a remaining cost of $1,036.25.Trades Cars and Trucks conducts business honestly and treats all customers with respect and integrity. We go above and beyond the bylaws of our business. We strive to achieve customer satisfaction andmore. We have been successful throughout our 16 year tenure in New Cumberland by meeting andexceeding customer expectations and relying upon repeat customers (just as this customer returnedfrom a purchase several years ago). unfortunately, we all fall short of perfection, but our growth andreputation continues to improve!Thank you for you consideration.James L.Owner, Trades Cars 8- Trucks

October 29, 2017Dear Revdex.com,In response to the complaint ID [redacted], on 9/11/2017, the customer purchased a 2010 [redacted] from Trades Cars & Trucks. The purchase price was $10,000, minus $8,000 for the trade-In (2015 [redacted]), which still had a payoff owed to...

[redacted] of $6,866.27. The taxable difference was $2,000, plus tax, notary, title, tag and lien fee, totaling $9,136.27.The vehicle was sold with a [redacted] Warranty for 90 days or 4,500 miles. No additional warranties were purchased by the buyer. The buyer signed an AS IS - No Warranty buyers guide form, stating “you will pay all costs for any repairs. The dealer assumes no responsibility for any repairs regardless of any oral statements about the vehicle" (See Attached). Also. buyer signed Trades Cars and Trucks Disclosure Statement advising the buyers that "Your purchase from Trades Cars & Trucks is strictly “As ls", No Waranty" (See Attached). On 9/15/17, customer contacted Trades Cars &Trucks about a leak on the vehicle that was found by a post-purchase inspection, which was done by [redacted]. At that time, an appointment was set up by Trades Cars & Trucks for diagnostic testing at [redacted] for Monday, 9/25/17. After diagnostics on the vehicle, [redacted] contact Trades Cars & Trucks, sharing that the rear struts were leaking and that there were no leaks found on the rack and pinion. Trades Cars &Trucks did authorize the repair and pay for the bill. On 9/29/17, the customer requested and was given a copy of the repair bill. (Invoices Attached)Approximately two weeks later, the customer contacted Trades Cars & Trucks stating that he wanted to purchase another vehicle and came in the office to show Trades a piece of cardboard that was placed under the vehicle to show that there was still a leak. Trades Cars & Trucks made another appointment at [redacted] to examine the vehicle again on 10/17/17. The customer was contacted about the appointment on 10/11/17, not knowing that the customer had scheduled an appointment for service and dropped the vehicle off at [redacted] on 10/12/17 at 7:46am. The same day, the customer's wife contacted Trades by email to ask about the Title and Registration to said vehicle and did not to mention that they dropped the vehicle off at [redacted] and that they will not be using the appointment made at [redacted].  Subsquently, the customer did not contact Trades until the day of the service appointment on 10/17/17, stating that they will Not be utilizing this appointment tor service, that they had taken the vehicle elsewhere to be repaired. The wife called again that same day, sharing that they took the car elsewhere for sen/ice, and that she was not going to be "easy on Trades, as her husband was, and that the car needs $9,000 of work". Trades responded by stating. “an appointment had been scheduled to repair the vehicle, and now that you took it to another shop, your warranty is the only assurance you have on the vehicle at this time”.After receiving the Revdex.com complaint, Trades contacted [redacted] Warranty to obtain the [redacted] invoice. The vehicle was serviced at a new [redacted] dealership. The warranty did pay $1,114 for repairs that were covered under the policy. Some of the covered repairs, such as lower control arms and bail joints were missed by [redacted], customer and [redacted], which is not Trades Cars & Trucks responsibility. Especially after disrespect and negligence of the previous appointment made by the customer: A lot of the repairs that were made at [redacted] were not recommended by [redacted] during the post-sale inspection. Trades Cars &Trucks reviewed the bill from [redacted] that was stated be to be $9,000. Additionally, the customer chose to ignore the service appointment made by Trades Cars & Trucks. Therefore, Trades Cars &Trucks stands by their policy and documentation that the vehicle was purchased with the [redacted] Warranty Only and the Trades Disclosure statement was signed that the purchase was As-ls, No Warranty, as per attached. Trades Cars & Trucks has gone far beyond their contracted obligations to this customer, and feels their integrity and reputation has been tainted significantly by the customer's negative reviews on [redacted] (See attached).Thank you for your consideration.James L., Owner

Review: I went with my landlord, [redacted], to Trade's Auto in January 2013 to purchase a vehicle (a 2002 [redacted] L, VIN: [redacted]). When I looked over the vehicle prior to purchase, I noted that the rear cargo/trunk cover was missing. I brought this up to the salesman at that time, and he assured me that one could be found and provided. With that promise, I advised my landlord to purchase the car. I have called Trades now SEVERAL times over the last year and a half, as well as sent emails, and have been completely ignored. The one or two times I have managed to get someone on the phone, I have been told "Oh yeah, we'll get you one!" and then I never hear back. This was a condition of the sale and it was made VERY clear that I expected this missing part to be replaced when we purchased the car. I was assured over and over that it would be found and provided.Desired Settlement: Replacement of this missing part, per our agreement, or refund of cost for me to replace it.
