Terrible
Terrible experience! Work was done by "kids" and shoddy. Tile in bathroom was uneven and grout missing in a lot of areas, unfinished texture, no chaulking where floor meets wall. 2 inches of tile was not installed in a corner which was hidden by a floor standing cabinet put in to hide it. The worst part was sewer smell coming from sink because no p trap was installed and I complained several times and was told it was installed under the floor. I said I was going to have someone else come and check and was told it would be taken care of and then never heard back again. Finally called someone else and sure enough, no p trap! Decided to have a cabinet sink installed so p trap could be hidden inside and it was found the pedestal sink was not affixed to the wall with anything but about 2 inches of glue stuck to the tile. When trying to take the sink out, it pulled off about a 2 by 3 foot area of tile and part of the plaster because there was no grout in the tile behind the sink! The tile edging was also just glued to the wall instead of anchored to the wall. Now I'm spend more money to fix the things that were done wrong by their workers! Obviously, they don't back up there work and you will get excuse after excuse of why no one showed up to do the work and then sloppy quick work done, and communication with them sucks. I highly recommend looking for someone else if you want things done correctly!

Tradesman took a very bad setup for a basement bathroom & did a fantastic
job making it functional & looking great. The original shower pan had been
countersunk into the floor leaving the existing drain unusable for any new
fixtures. The floor was so uneven that if you tried to tighten down the toilet,
it cracked the base. there were pipes coming down & through from the
upstairs bathrooms.
They broke out the drain, aligned it & poured concrete to make a secure base
for the tub. They leveled the floor for the toilet. Built three false walls to cover
all the exposed piping. Ran new wiring, installed a new exhaust fan with vent
/light /heater.
They stayed in touch, asked questions, made suggestions & did excellent work.
They met the schedule & let me supply all the fixtures to help me save costs.
Their prices may seem a little high, but you get what you pay for. I am highly
satisfied with all aspects & would use them again.

Jason and his crew (Nick and Justin) at Tradesmen Remodeling have now completed two bathroom remodel projects for us. We were pleased with the quality of their work and their attention to detail. In addition, they completed both projects on time and at a fair price. The process from start to finish was straightforward. They were easy to work with and very accommodating throughout all phases of the projects. We definitely plan to use them again for future.

Finished on schedule and were priced fairly! Glad we went with them!

I am very happy with the professional service Jason and his team at Tradesmen Remodeling demonstrated thoughout our basement finishing project.
They was clear communication and quality work at a fair price. I'd use them again for other projects.

We recently had our basement finished by Tradesmen Remodeling and we could not be happier with how everything went! We finished ahead of schedule because of the great work and efficiency that all the workers possessed. Every person that walked into our home to work was courteous, friendly, and spoke so highly of Tradesmen Remodeling. If there were any questions or concerns that came up, I was always able to reach someone either via phone call, text, or email. We are very pleased with how everything turned out and cannot recommend Tradesmen Remodeling more! You will be very happy with your decision and the work!

I had been been looking for someone to remodel and combine my formal dining room and kitchen together to make a larger kitchen in my 1970’s built home. I had struggled finding a contractor that listened to what I was looking to accomplish thru the process. I found Jason thru a friend who had had some recent work done. Jason listened to what I wanted done and going thru him just felt right. The job started about 60 days later and Jason’s crew removed a wall, patched up holes on the ceiling from light fixtures, new cabinets, flooring, paint, texture etc. They finished the job early from the contract date and did a great job! The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars was due to this: I chose to purchase my flooring and back splash per the amount (sq ft) they said to purchase for the job with a 20% overage. I purchased the products within my budget of the job. I ended up having to go back to the store multiple times to purchase additional product because it was not enough to finish the job. ( the 20% overage and additional was needed to complete the job.). Other than this it was a great experience and they did a great job! They even fixed other issues that arose during the remodel. I would highly recommend Tradedmen Remodling to anyone looking to do some remodeling.

We found Tradesmen at a garden and home show as we were trying to decide whether we wanted to go a more traditional route with tile, etc., or use a product like Bathfitter to convert a tub-with-shower in our 100-year-old home into a walk-in shower. We talked with several contractors as well as three ready-made product reps before we chose Jason and Tradesmen. BOY, DID WE MAKE THE RIGHT DECISION! The crew started our project a month before we were originally told it would begin, and it was finished in SIX-AND-A-HALF DAYS! The two young men -- Isaiah and Leonard -- who did the work were competent, professional, friendly and respectful. Actually, "competent" doesn't begin to describe Isaiah's performance as the team lead. He quickly solved every problem they encountered, delivered a beautiful and fully-functional shower, and communicated with us regularly, whether he wanted our input or just wanted us to know what they were doing. We also communicated frequently with April in the office and found her to be very responsive and thorough when answering our questions or dealing with our concerns. We couldn't be more pleased with Tradesmen's performance or our finished product!

TL;DR: High quality, reasonable priced contractor for any remodel project. Highly recommended.

We hired Jason and the Tradesmen Remodeling team to remodel two bathrooms on our 20-year old home. The mission was to get the 90s out of each bathroom. The Tradesmen team has a candid, honest and low-pressure sales and project scoping approach that we found quite refreshing. They took the time to carefully and thoughtfully answer all of our questions prior to the project start, at the project start and throughout the project. This is fantastic because most of us don't have projects like this frequently.

Our particular project involved a full tear-out and expansion of the shower, re-designing the tub deck, new cabinets, counters, toilets, fixtures, floors, baseboards and paint. For two bathrooms. This is no small job. True to their namesake, the Tradesmen team has all these trades covered in-house, so the team you have at your home is essentially who is performing all of the work: plumbing, construction, drywall, finish work, paint, etc.

Pricing and schedule for the project was exactly where we were hoping it would be and there were no surprise fees, charges or schedule shifts at all. As I mentioned - just... a refreshing experience.

The team who performed the remodel (Nick and Justin) were some of the most friendly and professional folks we have met. They were thorough and efficient - ensuring that our house was protected outside of the work area - thoughtfully cleaning up and condensing the work area after each day. The quality of their work is, frankly, top notch. We could not be more pleased. More importantly, my wife could not be more pleased. I'd add before/after photos to this review if I could, but Tradesmen has plenty of those on their site. They are quite representative. But the detail is even better than the photos can show.

We would not hesitate to hire the Tradesmen team again for any other project. If you are looking for a low-pressure, down-to-earth contractor who can perform a full turnkey project at high quality and for a reasonable price, look no further.

Great business to work with, from the owner to the skilled workers! Scheduled and finished the job on time, reasonable rates, responsible and respectful. Great communication throughout. Highly recommend.

My wife and I had our basement finished by Jason and his team and we're thrilled with the result. Every step of the way we enjoyed the process, AND the project finished about a week and a half or two weeks early (and on a 9 week project, that's a huge plus).

All the folks Jason + co had come in to work on the various phases of the basement were great people, too.

Jason and team also didn't mind my myriad of questions and they always responded promptly and kindly.

I'd highly recommend Tradesmen for any home project.

Jason and his crew did an amazing job building our new deck! We could not be happier with the craftsmanship and overall timeliness of the project!

A friend had lots of work done by Tradesmen and recommend we come by to see his completed project which we did and were very impressed so we called Jason to look at our project and give us a bid. We felt his approach to the whole project(master bathroom remodel) was the best of the other three bids we received. We especially felt the approach to give us allowances for the materials, etc and include this in the bid made it easy for us to chose this company. The crew handled all the elements of the project so we were not waiting for different trades to come in, which could have delayed the project. the lead shared ideas as the project moved along and they completed the project within the time estimated. We are very happy with the results and would recommend tradesmen remodeling for your project
.

I bought a home and did extensive remodeling including gutting 3 bathrooms, building out basement with wet bar, moving laundry room. Jason and his crew were a pleasure to work with and did an outstanding job! The work performed was excellent and completed in a timely manner....despite my numerous change orders. I highly recommend Tradesman Remodeling!

I contracted with this company to install a bathroom in my basement, remodel two bathrooms, my kitchen and new flooring (about a 1000 sq. ft.). We demolished two walls and ceilings. After the completed job my accounting showed I was approximately $1,500 over budget. The $1,500 was because of my decision, not their workmanship. I also appreciated there billing, which they call draws, method. Alice broke down each room with 3 draws and separated the labor and supplies. It made tracking of the costs very easy. If I bought materials they would reduce their material costs. Jason is very easy to work with and does what he says he will do. They don't leave you in the middle of the job. You will always know what is happening the next day or week.
Their subcontractors know what they are doing for the most part.
I would definitely hire them again.

Jason and his crew did a great job on our remodel. He and his wife, who runs the business side of it, were very available and responsive. Thanks guys! We'll definitely use them again.

We used Tradesman to do our kitchen. Their construction guys were awesome. All in all a good experience and it really was done quickly. The process for cabinets was a bit frustrating in that we are not kitchen layout designers, but found we had to be for this. We also had to research the cabinet manufacturer’s options and had to know to ask for certain things. That’s more on the cabinet side though. As far as Tradesman, they do great work and we love how our kitchen turned out.

Tradesman Remodeling did an excellent job on my kitchen remodel. They were extremely professional, timely and extremely clear on the expected budget. Their onsite team (Nick & Justin) did amazing work and were very professional.

Tradesmen Remodeling did an exceptional job finishing our basement. Their communication, timeliness and professionalism exceeded our expectionals. We couldn’t be happier with the end result. Highly recommend!

I hired this company to finish my 900 square foot basement to include 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, and a rec room. Several issues with the final product have not been resolved including drywall, carpeting, and painting. The company has not returned my phone calls regarding follow up. Specific issues include: divots in drywall surrounding light switches and bathroom fan, poor drywall patch to hole right of bathroom light fixture, carpet seam apparent following a patch placed after backflow pipe was carpeted around, green paint spill on that same patch of carpet, overspray from texture left on previously finished walls in stairwell, complete nonfinish of trim and handrail in stairwell.

We are surprised at this complaint as we have completed this project as contracted and have not received any warranty claims from the customer. This basement finish was completed May 21st and Final Inspection was Passed. This project came in under budget and nearly 2 weeks ahead of schedule. The customer already received a credit on their 3rd draw for coming in under budget with full final payment expected at completion. The Job Completion Walk Through and Punch list has been completed. The customer is past due on his final payment and has not responded to any of our attempts to collect payment. Minor issues such as paint touch ups, drywall fixes, etc are considered warranty after punch list. We have had carpet installer, painter and drywaller at the project after completion to do touch ups/punch list while the customer was present and did not leave until the customer told them he was satisfied. When we were at the customers home to do a post-punch list completion walk through, the customer mentioned no more issues. The customer went upstairs to write us a check and after waiting nearly an hour, the project manager went to find that he was gone. His wife said he had left in his car with the check book and they would mail us final payment. We have not received payment for services rendered or any response to our invoices. We have also not received any phone calls or emails from this customer about any further issues. We finally sent a final payment request via Registered U.S. mail on June 6th. We still have not heard a direct response, just this complaint. We do not provide customer credits or refunds for minor warranty touch up work. This project was completed as contracted and per code. The finished photos look fantastic. It is our intention and in everyone’s best interest to deliver beautiful projects and have happy customers. For additional warranty claims, the customer is encouraged to make the final payment that is past due and email his warranty claim issues to us directly. Payment of contract in full is required for warranty claims beyond walk through and punchlist completion.

In response to Tradesmen explanation, our concerns are not addressed to my satisfaction. Their response is almost entirely related to the last payment of $2800 on an almost $40,000 job. The financial aspect is not what my complaint is about. At the time of the final walk-through, there were numerous issues pointed out in regards to painting, drywall and carpeting. Those issues were added to the punch list and marked with blue tape. The items have still not been addressed and the punch list has not been completed.

For drywall: A messy patch (it appears that he spooned spackle into the hole with no attempt to smooth or shape) was done by John, project manager, on one hole to the right of the bathroom light fixture. The rest of the items with tape during final walk through were not done at all and the tape is still present. Contrary to their response, a drywaller has not been present in our home since final walk through. The drywall punch list was not completed.

For paint: The painters did come and fix many issues. In fact, they were the last ones in our home and we have not seen Jason or John since prior to the paint touch-ups being done. The painters did spill green paint on the carpet and did not complete the stairwell. John, project manager, said on final walk-through that he would clean the walls of texture over-spray and this was added to the punch list. He did not do this. The paint punch list was not completed.

For carpet: When speaking with Jason regarding the carpet being patched after the backlfow valve was carpeted around, he stated they would start with a small patch and if the seam was visible afterwards, they would “go from there”. When John, project manager, came later to put in the door stops, my wife told him that the carpet seam was visible and he needed to “go look at it”. John did assess and then slipped out of the house through the garage without discussing the situation and plan with us. That was the last time we saw him. I did call Jason, owner, to discuss this issue, a voicemail was left, and he never returned my call. It should be noted that the carpet patch was required due to scheduling mistake made by John, project manager, who admitted to my wife that he “got the days wrong” for the day that the carpet was scheduled to be placed. The carpet punch list was not completed.

Jason, owner, was aware of these issues. He came to the home and discussed them. I believe this is what the Tradesmen response calls the “post punch-list completion walk through”, although we were unaware that this meeting was considered that as the punch list work was not done. It was our understanding that he had only stopped by to look at the carpet hole that needed patching. He asked if there were any other issues other than “paint, drywall and carpet”. My wife told him “no”. It is absolutely and unequivocally false when the Tradesmen response states that during the post punch-list completion walk-through “customer mentioned no more issues”.

As a reminder regarding the “post punch-list walk through”, the painters came after this meeting with Jason. We were completely unaware that the meeting was called that.

As far as the final payment conversation and “waiting an hour” as reported by John, project manager, that is a complete fabrication and never happened. We are absolutely astounded at that outright falsehood. I was very up front and spoke with Jason, owner, directly and in person. I stated that I would make the final $2800 payment once the punch list was complete. He verbalized understanding, although he was visibly upset with my statement.

Since our last meeting with Trademen, they have not returned calls and instead have put a lien against our home. They state that the issues we have would be a warranty item and that “payment of contract in full is required for warranty claims beyond walk through and punch completion”. Considering that the punch completion has not occurred, that argument is not valid. And attempting to make this complaint into a financial issue, as they do in their response, is a distraction from the real issue: the punch list was not completed.

As the final check is in the mail due to the lien, we would like Tradesmen to come and complete the punch list, including replacing hallway carpeting due to the seam, fixing drywall issues, and completing the paint in the stairwell.

Good morning, April. The drywaller stated that he needed to come back and check on his work as he was unsure as to whether it was completed to his satisfaction. I am wanting to go ahead and schedule that and the painters. Ted can be scheduled to assess the carpet, as well, as we are not waiting on anything to be completed for him. Please respond and let me know when these trades can come and complete their work. Thank you,***

Tradesmen Remodeling Response • Aug 20, 2018

I personally met with the customer when the work was completed and today, they have signed off on all the issues that are related to our work. Please see attachment.

The rep from the carpet company has looked at the carpet issue and has explained that it is a product issue. Therefore this matter will now be dealt with directly with the manufacturer. It is not a labor issue and therefor covered by the manufacturer’s warranty not Tradesmen Remodeling’s warranty. That process has been set in motion by the carpet rep and has our information if they need to contact us directly with questions.

Tradesmen Remodeling has satisfied the contractual agreement as well as the concerns stated by the customer and so closes out the matter.
