On Wednesday, July 20, 2016, my husband contacted this company to get new tires for our JeepHe was told a style (Goodyear) and approximate price (which I did not hear) by the parts department and then forwarded to the service department to set up a time to have the tires put onIt was scheduled for on Thursday, July 21, On Thursday morning, we dropped off the Jeep for the tiresWe heard a clunk in the front that we needed to get checked outWe were told diagnostic was $for first hour and $for subsequent hoursWe agreed and leftUpon return after 0930, we were told it was the u-joints and that the parts needed to be orderedI asked how muchThe service representative had jotted down the parts list which included around $for one part that we needed of and several bolts for around $eachHe had noted the yoke but no price on the sheetHe also had $for labor written behind each line of parts (places)He also noted balance and mounting of tires for somewhere around $and disposal fee of around $There was no total price on the sheet of paperI asked how much for everythingHe took his calculator and punched in a bunch of numbers and said about $I asked if that was everything, including tiresHe stated “That is out the door price.” I must have had a confused look because he said, “Were you expecting more?” I said yes because of the $for laborHe said that it was only one charge for laborI stated good because I only had $for everythingHe reassured me that this was “everything” He then said he would go ahead an order the parts and start repairs when they arrivedMy husband also said he wanted an oil change with a couponWe agreed and leftMy husband called the service department on Friday, July 22, to get an update on progress of repairsHe spoke with another service representative that informed him the parts had not arrived yetThey discussed the possibility of the yoke breaking upon repairMy husband reminded the representative that everything needed to be around $On Monday, July 25, around 1200, my husband called to check on progressHe spoke with the service representative that stated all the repairs to the u-joints were complete and the yoke did not breakHe then said he “just needed to slap the tires on, should be ready by 1500.” Upon our arrival to the service department, the representative said, “We don’t know what tires you wanted, so I had the parts department print off a bunch.” We said the ones that were supposed to be put on Thursday The service representative continued to state that there were no tires on the $quoteI asked what he was mounting and balancing if not for new tiresHe stated he did not know but if we wanted tires, it would now cost over $to complete the jobNeedless to say, I did not get the tires I needed as it was a “verbal quote” and they would not stand behind itTrail Automotive lost two customers today due to this debacle
