Trailer Store & Truck Accessories Reviews (1)

Review: I ordered a new Delta stock trailer from Trailer Store And Truck Accessories and paid $1000.00 deposit for the trailer to be ordered.I was told when the trailer came in that upon removal from the trailer itwas hauled to the dealership on, the trailer was damaged. She said the back door wasbent in so she said she would order another door.According to her she ordered a new door and paint. She told me she was going to try to get one of the local body shops to spray paint the new door. According to Delta trailer the paint is baked on at the factory,so the paint will never match. I also don'tknow what other damage was done to the trailer in the process of removingit from the trailer it was hauled in on. I want my $1000.00 dollars deposit backbecause I bought a new trailer not a wrecked one.Desired Settlement: Refund my $1000.00 dollar deposit back

Response:

Mr. [redacted] purchased a Delta trailer and paid $1000.00 down payment, It is industry standard that deposits are non refundable. Otherwise, people would order large ticket items and never pay for them or pick them up and the Dealer would be " stuck" with a unit. When Mr. [redacted]'s trailer arrived, the rear door sustained some damage when it was unloaded with the forklift. Mr. [redacted] was informed of the damage and I assured him that the damage would be fixed. I ordered a new door, and the damaged door removed and replaced with the new ordered door that was painted at the factory. Touch up paint had to be done where the welding was done. Delta sent touch up paint and the unit was taken to a local paint shop and the welded area painted. Mr [redacted] refuses to even come and look at the trailer. He wants a "new" one. I tried to explain that Dealerships with cars touch up new cars all the time and they do not inform the customers. I was above board and honest with him and I attempted to reason with him. He wants his money back. I had to use my money to pay for his trailer. By rights he should forfeit his deposit, but I am trying to be fair. He refuses to pick it up or even come to my location. In an effort to resolve this issue, I spoke to him by phone . I explained that I would refund his deposit when the trailer was sold. Since I had to invest my money in his trailer, he would have to be vested also. I feel this is fair. The trailer is sitting on my lot for sale. When the unit is sold I will refund his money and not until. You cannot order a $5000.00 item and not pick it up. Linda Bowles

Response:

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. On purchasing a new trailer from Ms Bowles I was at no time informed my deposit was nonrefundable. The main reason for buying a Delta Trailer is because they bake the paint on all of there trailers. When Ms. Bowles notified me of the damage the rear door sustained with the forklift I was told that she would order a new door, I voiced my concern to her that the paint would not match. She in turn stated we will just try it and see. After 3 weeks and not hearing from her I called her and she said it had been raining so much that they had not been able to paint the door. So another 2 weeks went by and I called again she said your trailer is ready for me to pickup I ask her if they baked the paint on she said no and said that the paint matched pretty close. I told her there is no need for me to come and look at it that the trailer is not what I order. (baked on paint) and who knows what other damage had been done to the trailer when the door was damaged. I told her I wanted my deposit back she said no. Ms Bowles has been honest about the damage and repairs done to the trailer, But I did not order a trailer that was damaged and had to be repaired I order a new delta trailer with baked on paint and I feel that my deposit should be refunded and should not have to wait for the trailer to sale to get my money back. Why should I have to pay for her workers mistake. In closing I ordered a new trailer in good faith with a $1000.00 dollar deposit If I had not intended to pickup the trailer and pay for it I would not have order it. and that is what I expected to get a new trailer with baked on paint. I am also sending a email that was sent to me from the Delta eastern division presdent. Regards,[redacted]

Response:

I am sorry that the consumer does not find my offer satisfactory. The offer I made is the only offer I have. You cannot order a 5000.00 item and pay a deposit and then not accept the trailer. I feel that I am being generous to authorize a refund period. Most dealers would not. I also had to utilizemy personal money to fund the trailer. Until I get paid, I dont feel he should get paid either. The trailer has not sold yet, but I haver had some interest in it. As soon as the itne sells, then I will issue the refund, Thanks

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. I will except her offer on the condition that the trailer sales by (December 1 2013) and if the trailer does not sale by that time she sends my $1000.00 deposit anyway that is fair I think that gives her 2 full months to sell the trailer.
