*** and I, *** ***, President of Ford and Son Roofing Co., went to *** *** home to looked at a roof leak and to discuss a process to try and fix the issueUpon arrival we found the roof on his home to be a metal roof, 60+ years in
age, and already had several patches and repairsWe recommended a new roof, however; *** *** said he could not afford a new roof at that time. We did the work we verbally discussed, which was to seal around the chimney and dormerThere were never two prices given to *** *** because there was no contract, to begin with Due to the condition of the roof it was our professional recommendation to replace the roof. *** *** was informed that this would be the only way to ensure that the roof would no longer leak and would be a permanent solutionWe also informed him that we could only repair the leak the best way we knew how but that there would be no warranty on any repair work at this time because we could not be sure that the repair would be a lasting fix to his problem Even still, ** *** chose to repair the leak. *** *** left on vacation during the process of the repair and was told, by a third party, when the repair was completedIt was also the third party member who reported to *** *** on how long we were present at his home during the repair. Thus, *** *** did not see, for himself, how long we were present. The repair was completed as discussed and we even returned to do additional work, such as coating the repair to match the roof. This was done, at no extra cost to *** ***, to ensure his satisfaction with the job. It is always our goal to ensure that our clients are 100% satisfied with our work because our company lives and breaths on referrals from happy customers and return clients, which is why we have been in business for so many years. I talked to *** ***, myself, after the repair was made and he informed me that the leak was stopped 99%. *** *** reported that there was still moisture present on his interior wall but, he thought it might have been a result of damp insulation in his celling that had not yet driedTherefore, he was unsure if it was still leaking or just a hard rain blew in and caused the moisture. I haven't received one penny from this individual, in a form of payment for the work that was agreed uponAt this point, it seems as though I am being bullied into a situation to do more work that was not agreed upon. I will not ask *** *** for payment and will agree to part waysOnce again, there was never a contract in place, no payment received, and a bill was never sent
