Transamerica Retirement Services regarding distribution of 401(k) earnings/savings is completely lacking of a communication process that keeps the participant informed in a timely fashion. After submitting my distribution request(by fax) I phoned TRS to insure the request was received and in proper order. Further, I informed the TRS rep that I would be traveling to rural areas of Asia where modern communication can be difficult at best. He said he did not have a # for TRS Los Angeles distribution center but would try Google. He assured me that he would call me back. Only in the fine print do you discover that your money must endure a 30 day waiting period for distributions. That is waived only should you choose to roll your hard earned money over into a 401(k) which is where it will go automatically if 60 days pass since separation of employment. My attempt to use direct deposit was rejected for multiple reasons(I included a voided check) but my signature was deemed unaccetpable
