We fully comply with all laws and best practices. Charging by dimensional
weight is a worldwide practice in the shipping industry
The quote provided the customer was based on the information she
provided, an estimated weight of pounds. The sales representative had
asked for the shipment’s dimensions, at which time were not available.
Asking for dimensions at the time of quoting is our company policy. The
quote form provided the price, listed the special and additional charges, and
in the disclaimers included the phrase in bold letters “Charges are based on
actual or dimensional weight, whichever is greater.” The shipment itself
needed to be palletized in order to properly protect the contents. It was
not palletized in order to gain any advantage in charges
Our Sales Manager had a conversation with the customer to explain
this. Her feelings were that all of this was supposed to be explained at
the beginning, assuming total ignorance on their part. The explanations
by the sales rep as well as the quote and following Conditions of Contract
explained it, and in no way is that being deceptive One thing worth
mentioning: MsC*** told us that she recorded the conversation between
herself and the sales rep. California Law does not allow recording a
conversation without the consent of both parties

We used Transit Air back in to move out cooking equipment to a trade show in Chicago, ILWe were assured that our units will be treated with white glove and free of damagesThere were slight damages when our units arrived at the showBy the time the units came back to our company, there were some significant damagesWe had taken photos and submitted the claimTransit Air had denied that it was their fault and refused to pay the claimWe also end up paying higher than what they had originally quoted; they claim that they had made a mistake on their quote This company didn't handle this whole shipment in a professional manner
