Mr*** had his car towed to usIt was not towed by TipTopTowing via AAA insurance but by Friendly Towing (see attached receipt)If memory serves me, he said another shop had told him
it needed an engineHe did not tow it in here for a transmission problemMr*** said that he got his car running after replacing the camshaft position sensor which has nothing to do with the transmissionOkay, so why was the car towed here? Transmission problem or not runningMr*** answered that question himselfThe main fan had been removed from the water pump and was laying in the the fan shroud against the radiatorI am assuming the previous shop did that, not sureBut the car was towed in here because it didn't run not a transmission problem
Our diagnosis was that the car had no compressioni write all the estimates and I assure you I never gave him an estimate of $16,Maybe that was from the previous shopWe really didn't think the car was worth the money to replace the engine
I am very happy to hear that MrJones got his car running in minutes, that is truly a miracleMy husband has years experience and our technician has years experience and how they missed that I do not knowBut many of the facts that Mr.*** alleges just didn't happen
The steering was locked when when the driver tried to remove the car from the tow truckThey managed to get it off the tow truckBut our technician had to disable the ignition lock housing to steer the car into the shop
The car needs a new ignition lock housingThat was not our fault it had to be doneWe are not interested in working on his car any further and I did not charge him the hour it took our technician to disable the the lockAlso, it took Mr*** months to pay the bill, I could have charged him storage of the vehicle
As far as pushing the car out of the secure area, Mr*** showed up with a truck and trailer around 4:to pick up his carHis car had no tow hookHe said he was going to get one and would be backWe assumed he was returning that evening so we pushed his car out of the yard so he would have access to it because our shop closes at 5:and we lock the yard
The car was towed here because it didn't run not transmission problems, by Friendly Towing, not TipTopTowing, I never gave him an estimate for $16.304, the steering was locked so we had to disable it in order to steer the car, the car was left outside because he was coming back to get it, not through negligence
Mr*** says we misdiagnosed his car, I cannot prove that one way or the otherIf he wants to drop the complaint, I will refund the $11/charge for the repairs
