I am very upset about the cost to fix my truck and feel very taken advantage of. They may claim to be the best and utilize the latest of technologies but at the end of the day, They charged $848.90 to change 8 spark plugs and spark plug boots! Oh, I guess They did the $207 BG Induction cleaner. Was that needed and related to the diagnostic outcome, for which I was charged $111.44? Ultimately, they didn't explain what the hell a BG Induction is. They simply acted as though it must be done.
Two more things I have to point out. I called their shop for the first time and specifically asked if they do free diagnostics, the receptionist said "yes", we'll read the codes for free. I then get a call that they'd have to look further into it. They called back with a list of needed repairs and stated that about $480 would cover it. I explained that money is tight and I am aware of several of those needs and have done some and would address them in time. They were going to then rewrite a bid, minus the several of the initial items, and call me back. They called me back a t 2pm and the price jumped to $890 somehow. They left a message at 4pm that said it was done and I could come pick it up. Somehow they felt that $610 dollars in labor was fair for the 3 hours you had my truck. That's not honest and you know it and now others will too.

The people at this shop are honest, friendly, and as professional as they come. They were the only people in town willing to do the warranty work on my XL-7. We were shipped a defective replacement engine, and instead of hiding the problem they stepped up to bat with the warranty company, got us a second replacement engine, and made sure it ran well before we came to pick up the truck. My wife and I live half way across the country and they could have totally taken advantage of the situation, but they did not. The addressed our concerns and answered the phone EVERY time we called the shop. The people who work at this shop are the definition of professional.

Review: Last Sept 19, 2014 my husband had my 2000 Chevy Astrovan towed to Transolution Auto Care to replace fuel pump and diagnose hesitation and clean mass air sensor. Total Bill came to $1,265.31 and my husband asked person at Transolutions if price included $100 off coupon on $750 or more on repairs from mail flyer and left on front passenger seat of van. Husband was told yes final price included $100 off coupon.

I go in to pay for bill on my credit card and before driving off I noticed no discount of $100 on invoice and also mailer coupon still sitting on front passenger seat. I go back into shop and talk to [redacted], owner, and he said he would note in the computer system the forgotten $100 credit for me to use the next time I brought van in for $24.95 oil change and new oil pan gasket installation which I recall he quoted around $400.

There were also a list of recommdations:

Rear pinion seal leaking oil and real differential low on fluid

lower intake manifold leaking

oiler cooler hoses leaking

idler arms have play

power steering fluid dirty

brake fluid dirty

I called the shop and asked to have estimates of how much all above recommendations would cost. Never got reply to my phone call and also e-mail request for breakdown of costs.

Just would have appreciated $100 refund when I went back in to complain $100 advertised discount was not applied to extremely high repair bill that other repair shops in town would have done for hundreds of dollars less.

Can't get any price quotes for repairs shops said I need to do.Desired Settlement: Please mail $100 refund for coupon discount my husband was told was applied to repair bill but was forgotten

Review: About three years ago this business told me I needed a complete transmission rebuild after I had been refered there, having a transmission issue warning light on my vehicle dash. The repairs were done and the vehicle seemed to be operating ok. Shortly after the service, we moved to Yuma, Arizona. The next spring, in late April, after having driven the vehicle only a short time, as it is one of three we own, I tried to attach the vehicle, a 2002 Ford Explorer, to my motorhome to go on a trip. The transmission lock out, which allows the vehicle to be flat towed, would not engage. I was able to get the vehicle into the local Ford dealer to check the problem. I did not contact Transolution at that time, as I was leaving that day on the trip. The Ford dealer shop was able to repair the problem, saying that the lock out was "not properly aligned". When I got back from the trip, I contacted Transolution owner, [redacted] and told him what had happened. He refused to cover the $119.00 cost of the repair and actually claimed I caused the problem because I had towed the car when we moved from Montana. He had no answer when I told him we had not towed the vehicle at all since the transmission repair.

A few months later, the same warning light came on in the vehicle that had caused me to go to Transolution. As the 12year/12,000 mile warentee had recently expired, I went to a local Yuma Transmission shop, Transmissions Plus. They diagnosed a problem, at this point I don't recall what it was, other than the transmission was more than a quart low on fluid. It was not yet at the mileage that Transolution had said I should have the fluid changed. The new repair seemed to work. Then, a few months later, in mid 2013, the "check engine" light came on. Back to Transmissions Plus. They did a code read and found two transmission codes that had tripped. Based on the previous repairs they had done, and the fact the transmission had been recently rebuilt, they reset the codes and said to come back if it happened again. Well, this early April, the check engine light came on again. Same codes as the previous visit. After some discussion, the owner of Transmissions Plus, [redacted], we decided the best solution was to do a complete rebuild, again. During the rebuild, it was found that "the servo bushings were transposed, over drive band bad burnt".

I did not contact Transolution, as the vehicle repair Mr. [redacted] had completed was beyond his warentee. My wife and I were going to be going to the Northwest on vacation in late June, so I was going to include a stop to visit with Mr. [redacted]. I visited Mr. [redacted] at Transolution on June 20. I asked him how many miles I should get from a transmission rebuild. He stated, "As much as 100,000 miles". I then showed him the receipt I had from the new rebuild. I said that I knew my warentee had expired, but that the added repair had occured due to a defective rebuild by his shop. He became somewhat upset and claimed that it wasn't possible, that the bushings were different sizes. Additionally, he questioned the repair, saying I had no parts, no proof other that what I said. I asked him to call the other shop, having already secured permission from the other shop. Mr. [redacted] went into his office, came out a few minutes later saying Mr. [redacted] was out and he had left a message. We discussed the issue further and Mr. [redacted] said that he stands behind his work, that If there was a problem, he would make it right. We did not discuss a settlement at that time. He asked if I would be available Monday, as he would try to contact Mr. [redacted] again. I told Mr. [redacted] that we had to be in Western Washington the next week and would be gone by Monday.

We did go to Washington, making several stops to vist family. We arriver home on July 7th. I waited a few days and then contacted [redacted] at Transmissions Plus, per his request, to tell him how the vehicle ran, and asked if Mr. [redacted] had called. He said that Mr. [redacted] had not contacted him and that he had not gotten any messages asking him to call Mr. [redacted]. I then called Mr. [redacted] on July 18. I was told he was on a test drive. I left my name and number and asked that Mr. [redacted] please call me. As he did not return my call, I called again on July 19th. I talked to Mr. [redacted] again regarding the problem. He said that he had talked to his association board of directors who, he says, told him he has no responsibility in this. Mr. [redacted] became somewhat defensive on the phone, kind of raising his voice and suggestiong I had no proof and he felt he was not responsible. I had to repeatedly ask him to just call Mr. [redacted] and discuss the situation. Finally, Mr. [redacted] said he would and would call me right back. I waited for 45 minutes and, receiving no call back, I called Mr. [redacted]. Mr. [redacted] said that he had been in the shop and had not talked to Mr. [redacted]. Mr. [redacted] also asked both his office manager and his son, the only others who answer the phone, if either had taken a message earlier that day or any other day. Both said no. Not wanting to bother Mr. [redacted] further, I terminated my call. I did not get a call from Mr. [redacted] at any time that day, nor have I had one since.

Due to all the issues, I now must question whether Mr. [redacted] has made a good faith effort to resolve this issue in a manner that would be satisfactory to all concerned.

Further, I would like to say, and I told Mr. [redacted] this--my miles per gallon were about 15-15.5 after his rebuild. After the second rebuild, I am now getting slightly better than 20 miles per gallon. The only possible reason is that the transmission is functioning better.Desired Settlement: Initally, I was unsure how I wanted to proceed. Given the appearance that I have not been told truthful statements regarding the initial rebuild and subsequent conversations, I think I am due a portion of my repair done by Transolution. Mr. [redacted], when I asked him in June, whether he had ever contacted the local Missoula Ford dealer after he had told me in April of 2012 regarding the lock out issue, he said he had not. That bill, as stated above, was $119.00. Additionally, I have had to invest a few hundred dollars in additional transmission repairs at Transmissions Plus prior to to the rebuild there.

Mr. [redacted] and Mr. [redacted] agree that a transmission rebuild should last up to 100,000 miles. My rebuild at Transmissions Plus occured just past 30,000 miles from the time Mr. [redacted] did the first rebuild. Therefore, I feel that a refund of two thirds of the bill I paid to Mr.[redacted] should be refunded, as I did get about 1/3 of the normal milage. The bill with Trabsolution was over $3200.00, as I recall. Mr. [redacted] can verify the amount. I am requesting a refund of $2200.00, or Mr. [redacted] can pay for the second rebuild, a total of $2269.41. I believe I can provide copies of the other repairs that have been done to the transmission since Mr. [redacted]'s rebuild, if needed, although I am not asking for refund of those costs.

Response:

Just after filing my complaint, I was back checking my facts and realized that I have two dates incorrect.

My most recent phone conversations with Mr. [redacted] of Transolution Auto Care occurred this last Wednesday and Thursday, 07/16/2014 and 07/17/2014, not today, 07/18/2014 nor tomorrow, 07/19/2014, which hasn't happened yet.

Please accept my apology for this error and I hope a corrected form can show this error, Thanks, [redacted].

Business

Response:

After thorough investigation of Mr. [redacted]'s complaint, it was discovered that there was a flaw in the original rebuild. Therefore, a sincere apology has been extended to Mr. [redacted] for all the stress and inconvenience he experienced. As he stated, I did say that I stand behind my work and, if I discovered there was a problem with the original build, I would make it right with him -- which has always been my policy. Although I doubted that the servo bushing could have been transposed, a discussion with the builder for the shop in Arizona convinced me that his discovery of this mistake was credible. Coming to the conclusion that this was truly an error in our rebuild, I discussed the warranty settlement with Mr. [redacted]. He and I agreed to a $2000 refund which was mailed July 26.
