My wife called Transunion on the suggestion of a department store which had declined to issue a credit card (we have no debts, two other credit cards with total limits in mid figures, paid in full every month and own our home mortgage free) Her concern was that some erroneous information had gotten onto our record She
was told that there is no "one free report per annum law in Canada" and she would have to pay $16.95, which she reluctantly agreed to The email Transunion sent acknowledging the payment made no mention of a "monthly credit watch subscription" After several (admittedly somewhat careless) months we noticed this charge and challenged it, despite repeated protests we could only get two payments reversed by TranUnion - this subsidiary of a major US corporation is a total disgrace!

I have called several times to the call centre and faxed personal info to this company over the past month and a half, to help with merging 2 accounts together. The call centre is unsupportive and disrespectful. For a service I pay for, even speaking to the manager offers no way of help. Any new clients...think twice all they want is your money. Be ready to do all the work for them

I recently had an issue in which I had a delinquent account associated with my name. After launching an investigation with Trans Union, I was advised it would take roughly 30 calendar days to be resolved and I would be notified via mail of the outcome.

See anything wrong here? What investigation takes 30 calendar days and who uses mail anymore? Shrugging that off I patiently waited.

6 weeks went by and I received my letter than nothing had been done because the account was apparently mine. I had to contact the other business and have them launch another investigation to help clear my name. After 5-7 business days, this was completed and they sent correction papers to Trans Union to have it cleared off of my account.

Calling back Trans Union, they advised me that they would have to launch another investigation that takes 30 calendar days and that I would be notified of the outcome via mail.

For what? To go to the fax machine, confirm the papers and clear it off my record? That should take no longer than an hour! I realize I am probably in a queue of jobs and that my issue will not even be looked at for at least a week, but a whole month? And again, I have to wait for mail to confirm this? Scan whatever paper you are going to send me and shoot me an email. Or how about you use the phone that I just called you on and just say "Hi valued customer that never asked for my service in the first place and had no choice in dealing with me, we have done our job and fixed our mistake that has cost you hours of your time and everything is good to go."

Unfortunately that is way too much to ask for, and whatever Flintstone's setup they have at their office won't support that. Whatever CSR I speak to just regurgitates the same dribble that has been passed onto them without anyone willing to help.

Not that you have a choice, since it is likely a service provider you use that employs these guys to monitor your accounts, but if you need anything from these people, change your mind and go with someone else. Dreadful experience.
