I wouldn't recommend Transworld to anyone They have horrendous service and hidden costs We live in an area that doesn't have a lot of options for internet We started out with a small local company that had excellent service Anytime we had an issue with the phone or internet they sent out a technician and the problem was repaired immediatelyThey were bought out by Transworld and the service has been horribleIf there was an issue with the phone or internet they would insist on having you complete a series of steps on the phone that would take a minimum of hr This would have to be done for several days and sometimes for over a week Only after we had worked with them for several days on the phone and then lost internet service for a week did they agree to send out a tech Even then full service would not be restored We didn't have any other options so we stayed with them We had 6mb service that overtime deteriorated to and lower We were told that they wouldn't do anything about it since it met their minimum speed of for the the 6mbplanSince we weren't getting anywhere near 6mb we tried to change to a plan with 4mb but to do that we would be charged an extra $ Also it doesn't matter how many years you've been with them you must give them days notice to discontinue service In other words we had to pay them for days of service we weren't using and it had to at the higher rated service or pay the $and the days Our issue was with the company's policies and not with the representatives Many of them were excellent, but their hands were tied by the companies policies

First off, you are committed to a 2-year contract, and you may as well stay on, since they're going to get years of payments out of you either wayBut every time I turned the on, I had to contact tech support to get it working againThen when I finally could get free of them (my cellphone proved to provide better streaming video), they required I pay another month's fees because their contract requires a full month's notice (for no apparent reason other than they want more money from you)The tone of the contact person is sarcastic when you try to complain about that

What a complete waste of money and my time! In my area this business goes by Wi-Power for internet & phone, I just have the internet, well when it works that is the service I use My internet is down more than it worksI normally have to call in or times a month to have them reset my modem because of problems with their tower When it works it is so SLOW a regular web page will not open,I barely can check email, don't even try to watch Netflix or play a game I thought it would be a good company since they say the are affiliated with Big County Electric, but when I asked my Big County Electric Rep, he tells me they are not affiliated at all So I got scammed in to using Wi-Power by a bunch of lies and broken promises Lets talk about there billing nowYou get an email with some attachments that you cannot open unless you download another program to your computer, well I cannot even download the program to view my billto have them send you a paper bill they want to charge YOU extra The customer service team is rude and seem like you are bothering them when you call in The tech service team is also rude and makes you feel like an it when trying to talk you through problems over the phone, also they want to rush through and send a tech out in which YOU have to pay for Then when and if the tech shows up its all inside work on your computer that could have been fixed over the phone IF the tech would have had patients and talked you through it As of today I have been without internet for weeks and all I get is the run around when I call in Even though I signed a contact I am ready to throw away the money and move on HORRIBLE service, HORRIBLE Customer Support, HORRIBLE Tech Service

We live in an area that doesn't have a lot of options for internet. We started out with a small local company that had excellent service. Anytime we had an issue with the phone or internet they sent out a technician and the problem was repaired immediately. They were bought out by Transworld and the service has been horrible. If there was an issue with the phone or internet they would insist on having you complete a series of steps on the phone that would take a minimum of 1 hr. This would have to be done for several days and sometimes for over a week. Only after we had worked with them for several days on the phone and then lost internet service for a week did they agree to send out a tech. Even then full service would not be restored. We didn't have any other options so we stayed with them. We had 6mb service that overtime deteriorated to 1.70 and lower. We were told that they wouldn't do anything about it since it met their minimum speed of 1.5 for the the 6mb. plan. Since we weren't getting anywhere near 6mb we tried to change to a plan with 4mb but to do that we would be charged an extra $50. Also it doesn't matter how many years you've been with them you must give them 30 days notice to discontinue service. In other words we had to pay them for 30 days of service we weren't using and it had to at the higher rated service or pay the $50 and the 30 days.

Our issue was with the company's policies and not with the representatives. Many of them were excellent, but their hands were tied by the companies policies.

I have had Transworld WiPower for several years. It was originally owned by a Local company called Fairnet wireless internet. When they had the company, our internet service was very good. Good speeds, tech support and customer service. Several years ago, they sold out to Transworld. Needless to say, that is when our problems began to go down hill. Barely faster, and sometimes not as fast, dialup speeds. Outages frequently. Call tech support and more times than not, would ask me to leave a message and theyll get back with me the next business day. Or later. I have been fighting them over dismal internet speed for a long time now. When I send messages to Transworld directly. I takes nearly a month to get a response from them. I was told by one of their "Honest" Tech guys one time, that there was way too many people allocated to the wireless tower in which we were getting our signal from. Thus the reason for the poor internet speeds. I really appreciated his honesty. Transworld response had been pay for a higher speed package. My speed and package was more than fine when it was owned by Fairnet. And after seeing many reviews of Transworld from other customers on review sites. Paying for a higher package is extremely iffy to help any. Transworld is a horrible internet service provider. I am only with them because with my rural location, they are our only internet service provider. If anything else was available, I would drop them like a hot potato. Do not use them if you have other options. Transworld, their service and customer support are horrible!!
