Travel Lite, Inc. Reviews (2)

In July 2013, we purchased a Travel Trailer called Cobblestone Idea made by Travel-lite. After 4 weeks, we noticed a one inch split on the back of the outside rear panel. We contacted the dealer who took pictures and sent them to the manufacturer. With no response for many months, the dealer and myself sent email messages and called the manufacturer on many, many occasions. The estimate to have the split fixed was for [redacted] The manufacturer refused the estimate and eventually (8 months later) told us we would have to bring the trailer to Indiana to get warranty service. We then found that the front of the trailer, again outside, was full of spider cracks. The whole front panel needs replacing and the estimate for this is [redacted] Now the manufacturer is refusing to do anything at all and has taken the dealer off it's list of dealers. We now have a [redacted] trailer that is fully ruined and we've only had it for 10 months. We don't really understand the legalities when it comes to warranty service however, we believe that a one year warranty should be just that - good for one year. Buyer beware! If you are making a large purchase, do some research about the manufacturers and consider consumer reviews.

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 9, 2017/02/03) */
[redacted] contacted me about a 625SL truck camper she had purchased from a dealership in Washington that I have had several disputed warranty claims with. The normal process is for the dealer that she bought the truck camper from TO repair the...

unit and bill my company. Unfortunately my company has severed its relationship with that particular dealership due to warranty and service Issues. We require our dealers to inspect these units within 24 hours of them landing as well as inspect and repair any issues before they sale them to the retail customer. We also require that dealer reseal the caulk seasonal. If the dealer fails to check the seals or inspect the units before the delivery then we believe the responsibility is on the dealer for those repairs. I want to state clearly that this camper was not purchased from us, but I still reached out and tried to help [redacted]. Once I realized that the water damage to her camper was due to it not being resealed by the dealer. I have the pictures sent to me by the dealer to show that they knew the camper had this damage before they sold it to the customer. This issue is at the root of why we dropped our relationship with the dealer. I had another situation with a customer that purchased a camper from them at the same time. That customer allowed me transport his to my facility, repair the unit, and ship back at no cost to the customer. I offered to do the same thing for [redacted] and she turned me down and demanded that I refund or money of give her a travel trailer that was on a completely different dealership lot. She stated that she did not want a 625 because she believes that the model its self is defective when this is one of the top selling truck camper floor plans in the nation. We would love the opportunity to rebuild her camper for her here at the manufacture as we offered at no cost to her.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 13, 2017/02/17) */
I do not accept the solution proposed by Travel Lite. I am appalled with their product and their customer service. This camper was defective when it was shipped out from Travel Lite, and has had continual problems. Travel Lite has variously failed to respond to me and the service manager at Vancouver RV, given inconsistent responses, said they haven't seen documentation I sent them by registered mail that they signed for, said the problems are due to a manufacturing defect, attempted to blame the problems on the dealership that sold the camper to me, proposed that I bring the camper back to them in Indiana, said they would transport the camper back themselves, given excuses for their failures to attend to the issues, and addressed me with the wrong name. I was forced to file a complaint with the Indiana Revdex.com in order to get a response from them, as my camper sat torn apart in the service department at Vancouver RV. I do not trust that the camper would be properly fixed with any "remake" they propose for the camper (up to specs, safe, and in the condition that it was supposed to be when I purchased it new). They offer no details or information on specifics or timelines. The camper has been ripped apart in service now for half of the time I have owned it, costing me money, time, and continual stress.
I have offered several very fair solutions and they have refused to consider them in any meaningful way. They have offered a single unacceptable solution. Here at the end of this well-structured, somewhat lengthy process with the Indiana Revdex.com, I am extremely unhappy with both Travel Lite's product and the customer service.
In conclusion, I do not accept the single solution they have offered. I will be pursuing this matter through legal channels. I would like to thank the Indiana Revdex.com for their assistance.
