Review: I purchased travel insurance through [redacted] and chose TravelSafe for my 2013 vacation to Roatan, Honduras to occur in July 2013. Insurance was purchased 30 April 2013. However, my mother passed away unexpectedly (without any illness) on 26 June. I obviously canceled my trip. When I went to process my claim I discovered that Travel Safe is not the company that process clai** but [redacted], which has a VERY, VERY poor rating every where you look on the Internet. And even when you go to Revdex.com, there are numerous complaints against them. Before I filed my claim, I called to find out *exactly* what they required so that everything would be submitted and to minimize delays. The gentleman gave me the list, I followed, and heard nothing. I have called for 2 weeks and all have been able to speak with are customer service representatives. Yesterday I was told a letter was sent out on the 11th detailing the information missing from my packet! The company never bothered to contact me until I started calling them.

I purchased my insurance with Travel Safe, not [redacted], yet Travel Safe does not appear to be concerned about the clai** process by their customers.Desired Settlement: I want my claim resolved *NOW* WITHOUT having to jump through every hoop and over obstacle [redacted] presents.

Dear **. [redacted]:

Thank you for your September 20. 2013, correspondence regarding the above-noted claim. We appreciate the opportunity to address **. [redacted]'s concerns:

**. [redacted] left a voice message at our office on Friday, September 13, 2013. After listening to the message, we sent her an e-mail advising that we would contact the claims administrator to check into her concerns and get back with her. When we called **. [redacted] back on September 13, 2013, and got her voice mail, we left a message asking her to return our call so that we could discuss her claim with her. We did not hear back from **. [redacted] until we received your correspondence.

The claims administrator had advised that all of the information needed to make a claims decision was not included in the claim submission and apologized if the customer did not feel that she was notified timely of the additional information needed. At this time, a final piece of information is needed, and **. [redacted] is understandably concerned because the information must come from a governmental agency, and she is not able to speed up that process. The claims administrator has contacted the governmental agencies responsible for the updating the records and sent the claimant a letter detailing where the process is and the telephone numbers that might be helpful.

Please let me know if you have any further questions.

Sincerely,

Consumer

I am rejecting this response because:

Mainly because I sent the following email to the Revdex.com on Sept 17 asking that the complaint NOT be processed because TravelSafe was trying to help me, yet it was released within days! In regards to TravelSafe's claims: I did receive an email from [redacted] stating they were investigating my claim (dated Sept 13 at 5:04pm); however, I never received a voice message. In fact, this is the first contact I've had from the company.
