Review: I had reservation at Travelers Beach Inn for the dates of 9-22 to 9-25. A total of four nights. When I checked in, the carpet in front of the refrigerator was soaking wet. IT took several hours to see the refrigerator was not working at all. By this point several of my frozen meals had already started to defrost. Refrigerator was replaced but I had to eat a couple of things because they were defrosted. This is not the basis of my complaint, just to show level of disrepair and disregard of the Vendor. The second night I was there was warm. I turned on the air. It turned out the air conditioner was infested with crickets. I woke up in the middle of the night facing a huge slimy (from living in air conditioner) cricket about 3 inches from my face on the pillow next to me. I was repulsed and flicked the thing away. I stepped on several and mashed them with my shoe. I was up the rest of the night because I could not sleep with the thought of bugs crawling on me. The next morning I demanded a refund for the night before and told the proprietor about the crickets. She accused me of bringing the bugs in and refused to refund my money. I called the City of Ventura code violations department. Officer [redacted] came to inspect. We could not find the crickets, the ones I smashed I flushed down the toilet. There were other health code violations.. She went to the proprietor and said she had negotiated a refund of the two nights I had stayed, but I had to check out immediately.I was happy to. Picking up my luggage (I had 3 bags) and found the crickets. In addition there were several in and right below the intake the manager saw those and grabbed them claiming they were just trash. I called Ms. [redacted] back & reported the crickets. In checking out, the proprietor refused to refund the nights I had stayed and said she only agreed to refund the nights I HAD NOT STAYED. I said that was not a refund and was in violation with agreement she made with code officer. I filed claim with Bank of America.Desired Settlement: I want a refund of the two nights I stayed there per agreement reached with Code officer. This is $120.40. It is the least they can do after I was awake the entirety of my second night because of bug infestation.
