Good Afternoon, Thank you for bringing this concern to our attention. Our private, in-home, wine tasting events (conducted by independently contracted associates) provide the opportunity to those wishing to order our product the ability to order and select where they would like...
to have their items shipped. If they choose to ship their items to the host of the event (typically a friend or family member), they are able to do so at a reduced rate of $9.95 versus the cost of shipping it directly to their personal address at a cost of $12.95. Each person entering their order is provided the ability to review their order and the cost being paid at the time of ‘checkout’ either via a paper form, or via our order entry system on a mobile device or computer. Credit card information for the order is not entered into the system until items are selected along with a shipping option. Many times, people choose to have their items ship to the Host due to the reduced rate ($9.95); we are able to offer the reduced rate since more than one order is being placed and shipped in a single box. In comparison to other companies that ship wine directly, our rates are minimal; we, as a company actually absorb a portion of the shipping cost as well. We recently spoke with Mrs. [redacted] regarding her concerns about our shipping costs. The conversation took place via email on Monday, June 12, 2017. Mrs. [redacted] was provided with an apology for any miscommunication that may have taken place at the event. She was advised that at the time of the event, guests have the choice to either ship their items to the host at a cost of $9.95 or to ship their items directly to their home for a cost of $12.95. Mrs. [redacted] was advised that we would be reaching out to the Wine Guide that assisted in conducting her in home event for further review of the situation and additional training as deemed necessary. During this communication, Mrs. [redacted] was also provided with a full breakdown of the cost of shipping with our company. Knowing that there us an unknown in the situation – what may or may not have communicated by the independent contractor prior to submitting orders, we will be providing refunds to the guests of the event as requested.
