Two months ago and I purchased a tour package for myself and 2 other people. I received an email confirmation but one of the names was misspelled. The correct last name is *** but was misspelled as Roshe. I went to your office to have this corrected and was told you would try to get this straightened out. However, I checked with American Airlines and British Airways but neither had been corrected. The tour is scheduled for September 13, 2018.
Thank you for giving us the opportunity to respond to complaint ***. While we strive to make every client's experience with TravelPlex a positive one, sometimes we have to depend on airlines or tour operators to correct errors. We have no control over airlines or tour operators, so what we might want them to do or what the client wants them to do is not always the same.
Our client was very cost conscious, so after discussing pricing, we booked airline tickets through an air consolidator that offered fares much cheaper with the airlines which give them a much lower rate, but the rules are strict and when we work with the consolidator, they take the control of the actual ticketing out of our hands and put it in their control. We booked a ticket for this client through a consolidator and misspelled a name by one letter. When this was discovered, we immediately took action to work through the consolidator to correct the name. The client wanted his ticket reissued immediately. We explained to him that we were working to get this done as quickly as possible. He sat in our office waiting for us to reissue. The consolidator tried to work with the airline to make the change, but the airline in question, British Airways, does not always immediately give authorization to allow a reissue of the ticket. The ticket has now been reissued and the name is correct. It just took a little time and patience.
