TRE Racing Engines

The customer *** in question priced new engine after new engine, we sent him quote after quote, picture after picture, all those were quotes and pics of brand-new engines So he has a lot of emails, pics and quotes with different configurations Then months later after countless emails and pics, we told *** we took in a used engine, we told him about it and said it was similar fit to what he's looking for but much cheaper We told him it would be for sale when we got done making the engine fresh again, it would be a solid engine As it is! Any person knows when you buy a used engine at half price of a brand-new engine it's going to have a little bit of wear and tear, no different from a car, if you by a used car at half the price of a brand new one, it is going to have a few scratches and visible wear But as we do for any engine after we rebuild them we run the engine in our state of the art engine dyno test cell to insure they are good to go to customers around the world As we did with this particular engine But this cusotmer never even ran the engine or tried it out? He takes it to an auto mechanic not a professional engine builder, someone with no background in high end race engine builds Yes his mechanic did contact me directly and his statements are so show he has no knowledge about engines and specifically the parts in the engine He's telling me this is not right and this is not that I know what we installed an I have invoices for the parts installed Also the original owner has his invoices for parts he paid for installed in the engine I have been in this business for over twenty years and know aftermarket parts for engines better than anyone This mechanic does not know what brand the parts are, I'm not even getting into this because of his lack of knowledge Stock vehicles have nothing in common with race engine parts Next on the subject of race engine parts he keeps bringing nagging up Mr *** wants his parts in his engine a certain brand, built by race engine parts suppliers but is complaining that he did not know this is a race engine?? Look at the name of our website or our company it's Tarkington racing engines, these parts, everything for these engines we sell and build are considered race engine!! Everything quoted to him and emails is based off of aftermarket race engine parts he's complaining that the parts in the engine weren't expensive enough race only parts, that he wants a different brand of race related parts, I'm totally confused on this part and I don't have any idea why he keeps complaining about that ...Delivery...Yes in fact by the time we got all these emails back and forth worked out He did decided to go used, not new, on an engine and it was in December, we said we will try to have it finished up ASAP Well, we got it finished in February and we then ran the engine in our test cell Yes, then our entire operation burned to the ground and it took us three months to rebuild We're still catching up Once we got on our feet, we then sent him the engine, one of the first out in our new shop His engine luckily was not in the fire, it was being crated up to ship in another building It was a totally different building I had to rebuild everything in order to start business back over and start producing, selling and shipping engines again.As I told him before he can ship the engine back and I will try to sell it and when it's sold I would give him his money back, but as his invoice shows and any of his quotes he got, on the bottom of our invoices there's a NO REFUNDS ON CUSTOM ORDERS policy Which is what this is exactly The original owner has the money off this sale, not me I lost money selling the engine for all the new parts I had to supply out of my pocket Plus shipping went from $quoted in February by UPS to $I paid, *** only paid the $800, and that was another $out of my pocket Me and my family have spent every dollar we have, and savings, in rebuilding our business I can't afford to just hand this guy this amount of money when I didn't even receive it in the first place.Sincerely

In response to the customer that filed this complaint against my business I wanted to respond with our side of the story This particular customer emailed my business over documented times over a three month period asking prices and parts lists and also pictures on new engine builds
we could do for him We then had a used engine come in from a customer for trade in purposes In the midst of all the quoting on the new engine combos he had us do, we did relay to him countless times and countless emails this was a used engine it was raced for to years but it did have good parts in it, and we told him it will be totally freshened up before he bought it, if he bought it But as with any engine or car or anything automotive related, if it's been used to years, it's going to have some mild wear and tear as expected, when you're buying something for 12,dollars versus the new one of 20,dollars If you're gonna save $10,there's going to be some compromise on parts and pieces being worn.There was no bait and switch here, there was no lies He got excellent parts and we actually replaced many of the used parts supposed to be in the build with new pieces well over above the price quoted to him, on our dime I'm getting repeated threats and negative emails from him, negative post on our websites from this guy and I'm tired of being antagonized by this man If he does anymore slander on our business TRE, I will have my lawyer contact him and straighten this out I've already showed his pressure to TRE and there is grounds for slander, so I don't want to have to be in the middle any longer Once again, I'm getting repeated threats and negative emails from him, negative post on our website and I am tired of being antagonized by this man If he continues slander on TRE, I will file against him.Sincerely,*** ***

I am rejecting this response because:[redacted] did not email me or told me the engine was used for racing. I have all my email from tre. not one said the customer race the engine. on the add it quoted the engine would make 1,000hp. then I paid him. then after I paid him he told me the engine would make 970hp.then later he told me the engine would make 900hp. the parts in the add is different from the invoice he sent me. then he sends me the engine in june with parts that don't even make the invoice or his add. im not slandering his business just go on his Web site and u can see for your self. I just want my money back and he can keep the engine. he should make out since he claims that he put in better parts in the engine.so he claims? I sent u folks the emails and his add from tre. that should be safishent.I did not get what I paid for and he claiming everything is like new the picture my mechanic took talks for itself.I emailed [redacted] a lot because I was suppose to get my engine back in December 2015. and he even email me saying it should be coming back in December. but I never got the engine till June 2016. He never return calls. even my mechanic calls or email containing to the engine and the parts that was inside the engine not matching the invoice.Also, tre shop burned down and my engine was in the shop at that time. dont know what kind of damaged it did to the engine in that high heat. or water damage from the fire fighter shooting water to get the fire out.Sincerely,
