TREA Senior Citizens League Reviews (3)

Review: I have asked on NUMEROUS occasions to be removed from their mailing list. I have been told it would take a few weeks. IT HAS BEEN MONTHS. I want the junk mail stopped immediately.Desired Settlement: Immediate removal of name from mailing list of this company and any affiliates.

I am a senior citizen and have received numerous mailings from this organization over the past year. I have contacted this organization 3 times via e-mail and 1 time by mailing back a request to remove me from their mailing list. As some of these notifications have been well over 90 days (some in excess of over 200 days), they have had sufficient time to remove my name from their mailing list. However, they continue to send me solicitations which I consider to be harassment since they received a polite request from me. This is a scam organization that preys on the elderly. As a senior citizen, we need legal assistance to ensure organizations such as this do not harass the elderly.

Review: Similar to the other complaints against this organization….My 89 year old mother is being targeted every couple of months to provide " voluntary " dues so that they can fight on her behalf for supposed benefits from Social Security. They have misrepresented to her that she is about to receive $5,000 and that she just needs to keep updating her address so they can locate her to give her the money. An interesting tactic is that they send for** always asking you to decide how you would like the money to be distributed to you. I tried to contact the organization, but just got a recording. Tried to verify information provided via phone numbers that were disconnected (supposedly contacts in states where the organization was legally registered as an advocacy group entitled to solicit funds.Desired Settlement: This organization should be restricted from this direct solicitation of persons they call "Notch victi**." Their campaign to change the law, I believe, is bogus. They have one person named as a lobbyist- a former Congressman (one-term) from North Carolina. He is supposedly a lawyer practicing in N. Carolina and lobbying part-time in Washington, DC. The organization's legislative hotline has a recorded message from early September.

My Mom is residing in [redacted], Wisconsin and believes that she can count on $5,000 at any time, and that this money will definitely be available to help pay for the settlement of her affairs when she is gone. Since I am her personal representative and executor, this is troubling. I have urged Mom to ignore the requests for money and not to reply to any of their solicitations or anyone else's.

I desire a complete and full refund of all "dues" that have been paid by my mother over the past few years, since they first held out to her the promise of $5000 for being a "notch victim,"
