Review: After 2 weeks of back and forth email correspondence with [redacted], I purchased a single-headed floor lamp from Tree of Life Tech for $2,500.00 via [redacted] on 4/19/2014. I was told it would take 6-8 weeks for me to receive my lamp and it arrived 9 weeks later on 6/30/2014. In an email I sent [redacted] on 7/2/2014 (2 days after receipt), I made the following observations..."...I don't mean to be overly critical because I believe you are sincere in your efforts to deliver a good product, but your craftsmanship is amateurish. I am speaking specifically about the copper plate on the shade. I have no idea what you are cutting this with, but you obviously need better equipment. My impression is that this is a new venture for you and you are still figuring it out.The lamp itself is good quality so whoever is making it knows what they are doing, but you are trying to accommodate an existing design for a purpose it is not adequate to serve...hence, the instability..."From what I can tell, Tree of Life Tech purchases a lamp housing from another party and then fills the lamp head with crystal rocks/wiring which makes it very heavy. Tree of Life Tech then cuts a copper plate which it attaches to the lamp head to seal the housing. Then they add weights to the base in order to prevent the lamp from falling over. This makes for an unwieldy lamp to adjust. The lamp head pivots on a 3/4" tube steel neck which is welded to an adjustment mechanism with a lever. Only half of the 3/4" tube steel is actually welded and the remaining diameter floats free. Because of the lamp head weight, it is difficult to adjust the head to keep it from slipping. 6 weeks later, this weld broke and I returned it to Tree of Life Tech requesting a refund. [redacted] accused me of purposely breaking the lamp and refused a refund. As I am not satisfied with the function or quality of this lamp, I don't want it. Tree of Life Tech has my money and the lamp and I have not heard from them since.Desired Settlement: I would like a full refund. This whole episode has upset me greatly and I regret ever purchasing this lamp. As both of my 80-year old parents have been seriously ill and I've been their principal care provider, I put this issue aside until now. I don't know how much it costs to weld half the diameter of 3/4" tube steel, but I'm willing to deduct this cost from the $2,500.00. I don't want the lamp, but I would like some money back.
