On January 13, *** *** signed a contract with Nick Reams Construction Services, Inc(NRCS) to make repairs to her home per a Nationwide Insurance claimThe final cost was to be determined by NRCS and Nationwide InsuranceMs*** was responsible for her $
deductible. Included in Ms***'s claim was the replacement of a doorThe door was a special order, which was measured and ordered by a manufacturer's representativeWhen the door arrived it was the wrong sizeThe mistake in door size could have been made by the representative or at the plant during manufacturingUnfortunately, such errors occur and are not due to any "gross negligence" as stated by Ms***The door was reordered and installed as soon as possibleMs*** was not billed for any additional cost. As is NRCS's practice, Ms*** was encouraged to use a lockbox on her home which would allow workers to enter the home if Ms*** was not presentThe use of lockboxes has proven to be a safe practice in our businessThe lockbox would have made it unnecessary for Ms*** to be at home or miss time from her job while repairs were being madeMs*** chose not to use the lockbox. Nationwide Insurance paid the claim, minus Ms***'s $deductibleDuring the first week of August, NRCS received a check for $(\of the deductible) from Ms*** along with a note stating that she was not paying the remaining $250.00 because she had taken a day off work for the installation of the correct doorNRCS advised Ms***, in a written letter, that the $payment was not acceptable as payment in full since it was her choice to not use the lockbox and to stay home while the work was being completedShe was also reminded that her contract allowed for finance charges to be accessed to the unpaid balanceMs*** has been billed numerous times since August, Finance charges began accruing in December, She was also informed that the account would go to collections if unpaid. Ms***'s balance due is $(balance of deductible) plus $finance charge for a total of $Because she is delinquent in her payment and apparently refused to pay, on May 11, we sent her account to our attorney for collection. We are sorry for the inconvenience the repairs caused Ms***We do; however, believe that the repairs were made in a timely fashion and met all industry standards and contractual commitmentsIt was Ms***'s choice to stay home while work was being completed and her choice which cost her lost time from work and possibly lost wages. In order to settle this account Ms*** must pay the $deductible balance as well as finance charges and collection cost including attorney's fees and court cost. Respectfully submitted, Nick R*** **. President

Revdex.com, [redacted]I received a follow up response from Nick Reams Construction Services which does not satisfy my dispute nor was there an attempt to terms related to my complaint.      Nick Reams continues to state that wrong measurements on door size door for both existing framing, as well as the actual replacement door is an acceptable practice in construction. I was verbally told by Nick that [redacted] (perhaps subcontractor for Nick Reams Construction) measured inaccurately not the plant manufacturer as noted in response. A primary requirement for a construction service is measurements and one that does not falls short of a reputable business's mission and value statement. Passing on there inaccuracies in cost to the consumer is unacceptable.  Also, Nick Reams states in his response that I was given the option for a lockbox. There was never such conversation for this option nor is there documentation that suggests otherwise.      Furthermore, on 4/27/2016 after I sent a letter to Nick Reams regarding my dissatisfaction, I received a notice for 2% finance charges and a threat of charges from a lawyer when they send my bill to collections.    To date there has been no issue resolution to my consumer complaint. Thank-you for your attention to this matter, [redacted] RN BSN MSNe
