Tri City Auto Sales Reviews (1)

Complaint[redacted] from tri city sold me a lemon car, first he told me I was only qualified for the new beetle Volkswagen because it was in my price range, I'm only 18, than I asked him to put insurance on it gave him my credit card information with the money in it and he never put it on there. Than 4 days after getting the car it shut off in the middle of traffic , the check engine light was on the day after I got it, they gave me a appointment went to the appointment and said they were too busy to look at it , leading to the car shutting off, I sent it back and there on he kept my car, turns out the transmission was messed up it was skipping and wouldn't turn over , I signed a paper saying if something internally went wrong they would fix it , I sent it back before my 90 days was up after he kept my car he gave me another car to keep me happy this last time I got my car back the abs light came on and my brakes stopped working and I ran into a stump in my moms yard and it tore the oil panel off that was the day after my 90 days was up for the lemon law he than said oh your insurance has to pay for it but he never issued It on there! Than last week he called me and told me my damages was more than my car was worth and totaled it so now he want me to get insurance on a car I don't even have anymore so he can get the check basically I am highly upset, this is the 3rd car from this place that has transmission problemsProduct_Or_Service: 2000 new beetle VolkswagenDesired SettlementI want the 1100 I put down for the carBusiness Response Dear Mrs. [redacted],I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience these issues may have caused you. I have taken the liberty of responding to your complaint although it appears to be invalid and incorrect information. According to my research, your purchase with us was accepted by the North Carolina State DMV with proof of insurance that was provided by you with your signature dated 3-31-2014. This is the only way DMV would allow you a valid sales purchase or North Carolina License Plate. After further investigation there are records that your vehicle was delivered back to Tri City Auto Sales with a customer complaint that your vehicle was having issues that needed to be addressed. Tri City Auto Sales Records indicate customer test drove and agreed to purchase with No Warranty - purchased As Is. Tri City Auto Sales does however offers their customers a Maintenance Agreement which covered upcoming oil changes and any major mechanical issue within the engine or transmission. Due to customers complications we wanted to investigate any issues that could be an obligation to Tri City Auto Sales. After extensive review, parts and labor from local certified mechanics the customers issue was resolved and covered by Tri City Auto Sales. During this correction customer was provided with alternate transportation from Tri City Auto Sales in which the customer was well pleased. After delivering the car back to Mrs. [redacted], Tri City Auto Sales was informed as a lien holder to this vehicle that Mrs. [redacted] was not current on her payments and has also been canceled from her insurance company, due to nonpayment/bad check, which in the state of North Carolina is grounds for repossession by the lien holder. After contacting Mrs. [redacted] and explaining this to her and her mother. Her mother stated that she was in route to add full coverage insurance on the vehicle in order to keep vehicle and was pleased with our understanding. Contacted the Local DMV to verify Mrs. [redacted] is now compliant with North Carolina Laws and all paperwork appeared to be up-to-date. 10 days later Mrs. [redacted] contacts Tri City Auto Sales and states she no longer wants her vehicle that it was wrecked and damaged from hitting a stump in her drive way. Issuing a tow truck to pick it up from her front yard. Upon delivery of Mrs. [redacted] Car you could see front end damage and bumper was ripped off and windshield was cracked. As the lien holder Tri City Auto Sales contacted Mrs. [redacted] Insurance Company, and they stated her check declined due to insufficient funds. Mrs. [redacted] now owns a totaled vehicle in which she has no remorse nor agreed to help repair the vehicle or bring loan current. Therefore Tri City Auto Sales has no other option but to repo the vehicle to try to collect from there total loss. After further review it was acknowledged that Tri City Auto Sales is not held liable for customer's negligence to uphold their contract as well as keeping Full Coverage on the vehicle at all times. Therefore we have to decline responsibility. This decline reason did not affect the outcome of our quality of seeking customer satisfaction. The customer was just unreasonable and unfair. You may be interested to know that Tri City Auto Sales went above and beyond to help this customer with their experience and couldn't keep customer compliant with any of their obligations.Sincerely, Tri City Auto Sales
