Review: [redacted] was the home inspector used prior to purchasing my home. Upon completion of his inspection, he submitted a report marking the home in satisfactory condition. I made an offer on the home based on the findings in [redacted]'s report and come to find out, this report was fraudulent and very misleading. When my family and I moved in the house, we noticed the 2nd bathroom floor to be very soft and it's on an incline. The plumbing has been a problem since the first time we tried using the bathroom and there were leaks that were evident, but not put in the report. The garage roof is my other concern. It leaks in many spots, you can see where the roof is physically separated from the structure. I used this garage for storage and many items have been ruined due to water damage. I asked [redacted] to come back and address these issues, which took quite some time to get him back out to my residence, and once again, he said there was no problem with the bathroom or garage. I called a couple other contractors out to assess the damage to the house and they found the bathroom floor is completely rotted and causing structural damage and needs to be completely taken out and redone. The garage roof has 12+ cinder blocks holding it down, it has several cracks throughout the roof and needs to be taken off and replaced. I was given estimates of $10,000 - $15,000 minimum to repair these issues. When I informed [redacted] as to their findings, he confessed he did she the rot but thought it was in a tough spot to have repaired. He never indicated this to me at the time of inspection, nor indicated it in the report. I feel [redacted] should be responsible for the repairs, as I would have been able to make an informed offer and been able to negotiate with the homeowners prior to the sale to have these items fixed had the report been accurate. He has done me a grave injustice and needs to be held accountable.Desired Settlement: [redacted] should be held responsible to replace the garage roof and also the bathroom floor and any structural damage that has occurred. He should be made to provide me a satisfactory bathroom and garage as he stated they were in his report.
