Thank you for the opportunity to respond to the dispute from [redacted] and for understanding that there are two sides to every dispute. On April 3, 2015, I entered into a contract with [redacted] to replace the roof on her (main) house. The approval of all work to be performed and the price...

of the job were covered by her insurance company. I performed the work based on the insurance company's specifications.[redacted] claim that there was a change in the amount of money she had to pay is untrue. Payment from the insurance company was provided in two payments; I received the 1" payment leaving a balance of $700.00. Upon completion of the work, I submitted a final bill of $2,200.00 to [redacted] which covered the balance from the insurance company ($700.00) and $1,500.00 for additional roof work requested by [redacted] for additional roof work on part of her house that the insurance company did not approve. [redacted] wanted to make arrangements for monthly installment payment of $100.00 per month until the $1,500.00 was paid. Tri-County does not accept installment payments; therefore, this was not acceptable by me. After advising [redacted] that I would not accept her proposal, she paid the full balance of $2,200.00 from [redacted]. I had nothing to do with how she got the money to pay me.As far as the gutter guards were concerned - they were never a part of the contract.Prior to the roof job [redacted]' yardman placed some gutter guards in her storage shed and some were left on the ground. The person that went on her roof noticed that there were no gutter guards on the roof. I received a call from [redacted] about this matter and took it upon myself to not only install the gutter guards but purchased additional guards to complete the job. I did not charge [redacted] for the labor or material cost for this work. -2Additionally, we needed a power saw to cut new wood to replace the damaged wood on the roof (insurance companies do not cover the cost to replace damaged wood). The socket that we plugged the saw into did not work so we had to use another one. She blamed my company for this problem and insisted that I correct the problem and refused to pay me the balance of the job until the problem was corrected. I hired an electrician to fix the problem; the electrician advised [redacted] that the problem was not caused by anything my company did. It was actually from existing faulty electrical wiring in the wall of her house (possibly due to the age/condition of the house). This work was completed, [redacted] did not pay me for this additional work and I ended up having to pay the electrician. The condition of [redacted] house was such that I really did not want the roof job, however, because her boyfriend is a friend of mine I, regrettably, decided to do the work.Upon completion of the job, [redacted], as with all my clients, signed a "Notice of Completion" (copy enclosed) indicating that the work was completed to her satisfaction. That is the only way that insurance companies will make final payment on insurance jobs.Although I was delayed in providing [redacted] with a timely labor, material and manufactural warranty - she has now received it. I do not believe I own [redacted] neither an apology nor partial payment. As indicated all work was performed and accepted without a change to the amount. If anything [redacted] should reimburse me for the additional work that I performed at my expense.| believe [redacted] has been very deceitful to you regarding this job. On the other hand, except for not delivering the warranty in a timely manner - all matters concerning this work were performed in an expeditious, courteous and professional manner by Tri-County. This is how we always conduct our business and why we continue to get referral jobs.Again, thank you for this opportunity.Sincerely, Harold *.  Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:  Mr. H[redacted] is flat out lying.  I can prove he offered me installment plans thru my ex-boyfriend. The installment plans made verbally was suppose to be 500.00 a month according to Mr. H[redacted], he just switched up the plans which forced me to give him the totally payment.  Yes the insurance paid four thousand and something, and I was suppose to pay 2,200.00 in installment payments.  I did in full instead of the monthly payments.  When I mentioned that to him he told me "to cut the theatrics",  I can prove he had to do additional work to the roof after he supposedly had finished and had all of his payments.  He did not check the completed work himself until I called to tell about the gutter guards were missing.  This is when additional work was done when he check out the roof himself and realized something else small had to be done and replacement of the gutter guards.   If he had to buy more gutter guards its because his workers thru some of them away.  I had to get someone else to get on the roof to tell me that and I can prove that also.  I was left with an uneasy feeling about the roof that's why I ask someone else to get up there and check it out for me.  I did not feel comfortable calling Mr. H[redacted] because he had already made me feel uncomfortable but I wanted to prove to him also that he did not check the work after completion.
Regards,
[redacted]
