Tri Star Refinishing Reviews (7)

Tri Star painted my tub and surrounding ceramic tile walls. When he vented his tube through my kitchen window, it allowed a powdery dust to spread around my kitchen and house (I live in a ranch). It covered my 20 month old daughter's things from utensils to toys. After speaking to the man and explaining why I was unhappy, he admitted there was a huge plume of dust in the house so he closed my bedroom doors and then tried to open my front door to get some out. He will not return my calls or texts or offer any type of partial refund. Find someone else.

Review: I had a bathtub refinished to white and border tile refinished to grey on 9/1. I was very pleased with the tub, however I was NOT AT ALL pleased with the tile. The tile was very sloppily done. The edge lines are terrible, the prep work was not done properly so grey overspray settled on nearly all of the grout a foot or more under the border tile all the way around the bathroom. Per the company’s instructions, I re-grouted the entire tub myself several days before they came (which took 10 hours) and now I ended up with grout that had little gray speckles all over it and looks horrible and dirty again. Not to mention masking tape was left on the wall to cover a spot where it had pulled paint on the wall. I know this was intentional, because when I removed the tape, the paint was missing from the wall, but was not on the tape, so a new piece of tape was intentionally placed back over it to conceal it. What's more ridiculous is I wouldn't have even cared since that wasn't the fault of the company, but it being intentionally hidden is ridiculous. The square footage of the tile painted was around 6.5 feet and according to your website that should cost about ** dollars. I was upon told upon arrival that because it was border tile it would take much more preparation than anticipated and ended up paying[redacted] dollars for with tile (with color surcharge included). I thought it was reasonable, because of the extra work he would need to complete in order to thoroughly tape off the border, until I spent 2 hours sanding my grout lines to remove all of the negligent overspray that I supposedly paid extra to avoid. If I was there when the job was completed there would have been no way I would have paid full price, but my wife was there and unfortunately the company took advantage of her. I should be refunded the full [redacted] for the tile, since it was horribly done. I feel that’s a reasonable thing to ask since I paid [redacted] total ([redacted] for the tub) and I am satisfied with the results of the tub.Desired Settlement: I should be refunded the full [redacted] for the tile, since it was horribly done. Bill was prompt at returning phone calls & on time for the job. He finished it earlier than expected (tub/tile re glaze, 3-wall standard). It looks superb! I sensed Bill to be a respectable, professional business man with high performance standards. We couldn't be more pleased with the new look & his warranty. My next-door neighbor is already interested in having theirs done by him, a testament to his work.
