At this time, I have been contacted directly by Tri-State Area Moving & Storage Corp. regarding complaint ID [redacted], however my complaint has NOT been resolved because: I'm not happy that the company in question did not fully compensate my damage. They only paid me what they felt...

like giving me.I'm not going to pursue it any further

Review: We used Tri-State to move into a new apartment and in moving us to new apartment they broke our desk, microwave cart and damaged the walls going upstairs to our apartment. I called the company the day that they broke the desk and they told me "they would take care of it". Never offering to fix it. I threw the remaining pieced out because I could not keep the wooden shards and screws around with my 13 month old baby walking around, it was very dangerous to her. They thing proceeded to call me days later and tell me they wanted to send someone to fix it.......well, I had already thrown it out. So then they say there is nothing they can do and that basically the furniture I bought was not covered and there is nothing that they will do. So my biggest complaint is that this company just destroys people's furniture and expects us to replace it on our dime. That is not right. They offered to replace the broken desk with one that they had in storage but they never sent any information or ever got in contact with us again.Desired Settlement: The company offered to send pictures of available desks to replace the one that they broke but never did so. I would like a new desk or the $200 for the broken desk. I will continue to make complaints every month, post negative reviews on all websites I can find until this is resolved.

Sincerely,

Review: In May we moved to our present address with this company.First, the company called us the night before the move to inform us that they were going to be having a "surprise" inspection by the NYSDOT the day of the move - a Saturday. Since when does the DOT inspect on Saturdays? They said it should only delay things about two hours. They finally showed up six and a half hours late (4:30 PM instead of 8 AM) claiming that the inspection took much longer than it has in the past.During the move our kitchen microwave cart got damaged when the movers from the company dropped it as they were taking it off the truck. I personally saw it upside down right after it was dropped. I heard the thud and looked out my window to where the truck was being unloaded - right below it. When I questioned one of the movers about it he claimed he knew nothing about it.I also learned that this team had never worked together before and that at least some of the crew usually worked in Suffolk not Nassau. We have tried working with them and going through the Nassau County Department of consumer Affairs. All without success.Desired Settlement: We would like the company to pay us $400 for the replacement of the damaged cart.

Review: Movers were to move us from Westbury to Hempstead. Not only were they 3 hours late, but my formal dining room set was badly damaged. Its so scratched. I am wondering if they even wrapped it. My bookcase was destroyed. The bottom of my dressers damaged. Its despicable. Those are my worst damages. In addition, desk chair wheel missing, knicks on my bedroom furniture. Its a joke. I would never. After a week, [redacted] still wants to come to look at my stuff, but when you call to confirm, he always has something that has come up. they should be out of business.Desired Settlement: its 300 to restore my wood dining set alone.

Review: They business is a joke. They quoted me for a job that would have taken half the time. But it was fine because I needed them short notice and I couldn't help because I am pregnant. First they show up 3 hours late, claiming it on their truck breaking down. Then showing up 5 hours late to the next pick up and almost missing the time the business is open for pick up. The man I dealt with Gabriel said he would call me in morning when the pick up was made and I heard nothing so I had to call over and over myself. Then finally one of the guys on the truck called and lied to me and said he would be there in 15 min. When no one showed up on an hour I called again and he said there was traffic and he said 50 min.

The man on the phone Vinny also was very rude on the phone and hung up on me and swore up and down during the job. ON top of the bad service there were pieces of furniture that was missing. I'm just so frustrated with the whole experience. I don't know what else to do.

They made us pay 150 over the quote and there were pieces missing.Desired Settlement: I would like to get $400 of my money back for the fake over time we had to pay and the loss of items, they claim were never put on the truck.

Fake over time pay: 150

Picture:100

Table stand: 150

Bed risers: 5

Review: Tri-State Area movers, which is maned by an administrative assistant by the name of [redacted]; falsely advertises professional moving services with the following free services included in ones package. All Furniture will be Disassembled and Assembled as necessary - FREE All Furniture will be packed with stretch wrap/moving quilt pads as necessary - FREE All Mattresses and sofas will be packed with plastic wrap/stretch wrap/moving quilt pads as necessary - FREE All Stretch wrap and tapes - FREE. NOT ONE of the services included in my quote were performed. Due to the unprofessional-ism of the movers I was forced to move SEVERAL of the items I paid to have moved by Tri-State myself. On top of the unsatisfactory work performed by the movers the men were highly inappropriate to the point of it being borderline sexual harassment. Rather than perform their duties they were very heavily paid to perform they sat around wasting time, knowing that they were working at an hourly rate. Due to the services above mentioned not being provided; several of my furniture items were damaged. When I sent a very detailed email to Hope (the company's administrative assistant who provided me with the quote) expressing my displeasure with the services provided. she responded "We are sorry about your disappointment with the moving crew. Our crews have been working very hard to accommodate this heavier than usual moving season. I appreciate your input and will make sure your complaint gets to our main office. Enjoy your new home, we wish you many happy healthy years thereSent from [redacted]" I found her reply to be highly insufficient. Tri-State he did not offer any kind of compensation for the misrepresentation of their company services which were quoted to me. They falsely advertise professional movers and what you get are inexperienced men who whine, complain, damage your furniture, and work slowly in order to charge overtime which they earn commissions off of. DO NOT USE TRI-STATE AREA MOVERS.Desired Settlement: There is no way to obtain a refund over a move but they said in their quote that they insured all items moved for free so I would like a replacement for my couch which was damaged. I am willing to overlook the damage to the rest of the items seeing as how my couches damage was the most severe. I would like Tri-State to adhere to the quality of service they try to portray on their website. I suggest that they send their movers to professionalism in the workplace training. They are in dire need

At this time, I have not been contacted by Tri-State Area Moving & Storage Corp. regarding complaint ID [redacted]. I want there to be a clear record that Tri-State Area Movers falsely advertised professional movers who would carefully wrap all items listed in our quote and what hey sent were young men who stood around wasting time and I and my sister ended up carrying most of the boxes we paid them over 1000 dollars to move ourselves because we were afraid we would be over billed if we went over our 4 hour mminimum for which they start charging at a 15 minute rate. I tried to send my complaint to the administrative assistant Her name is [redacted], which set me up and took both of my orders and emailed me quotes and she sent me a very short email saying that they strive to achieve utmost customer staisfaction and that they had been working overtime to accommodate the busy season but she did not address in any way any of my concerns. What I got was below par service, lazy workers who did not wrap anything and as a result several of my furniture pieces were damaged and no response to my very detailed complaint. I sent further emails indicating I would be reporting the business to the Revdex.com and they never replied to a single one of emails.

Sincerely,

Review: We hired Tri-State movers to move the contents of our house in [redacted], to Florida at the end of August 2014. At the time of contract we paid an additional sum of $183 to cover insurance for lost/damaged items incurred during the move. After moving we had numerous items that were either completely damaged beyond repair and/or needed repair. Tri-State put in a claim from pictures my wife sent without us reviewing the claim or giving dollar value to items except for a broken mirror on my motorcycle. When asked to review the claim, we were told they couldn't send it to us by law. The damages totaled $634.20, with a $250 deductible according to Tristate. This amount also included us having to get furniture repaired out of the $384.20 remaining. As of yet, we have not received a check and do not feel this is sufficient to cover costs incurred. We would never recommend this company as their workers were careless and sloppy.Desired Settlement: We wish to see a copy of the insurance claim so we can determine if what was claimed was accurate and complete. We do not feel the amount quoted will cover furniture repair and replacement costs to our items.

Review: [redacted], a family member, has asked me to advocate on her behalf. This complaint is against Tri State Area Movers.

Tri State Areas Movers has failed to deliver a costly recliner despite multiple attempts, phone calls, conversations with [redacted] of TSAM.

[redacted] is a senior citizen, on Long Term Managed Home Care, who has recently moved to [redacted] to be closer to family. [redacted] originally lived in [redacted] where she contracted Tri State Area Movers to move her furniture to [redacted]. Move Date 6/**/14.

Following the moving truck breaking down , according to [redacted], furniture finally arrived several days later. Damage occurred to several pieces of furniture and her lounge chair was missing. Due to [redacted]’s multiple medical conditions, this chair is needed because it gives her the support she needs to sit in comfort.

The above events and attempts at having her furniture returned has caused her undue stress which is a special concern due to her medical conditions. Verification of medical conditions will be submitted upon request.

We appreciate any help you can give to us with the above matter. If you have further questions, please do not hesitate to call [redacted] at ###-###-####. Y

Thank you

[redacted].Desired Settlement: Have furniture (lounge chair) delivered. Also compensation to damaged furniture

Sincerely,

Review: We hired this company to move the contents of our home in [redacted] to [redacted]. We got a binding contract estimate for $4700 with an estimated delivery date of 6/*-6/** We still do nt have our stuff as of today 6/**/14. We never received an inventory list after the truck was loaded and a weight. We have asked repeatedly for this info. Nothing has happened as promised. Every deadline has not been met. Finally today we received an email with an amount due over $2000 more than originally quoted. Supposedly the estimated weight was 3000 under what the rep quoted. We have no proof that this weight is correct. The inventory list is not complete and includes items they never moved. This company is running a scam. Our stuff is being held hostage unless we pay the inflated cost. The [redacted], [redacted], lies continuously. He has promised delivery everyday since Sunday without it happening. We have contacted an attorney but we still don't have our things.Desired Settlement: Delivery of our goods for price originally quoted all goods in perfect order as they were received. We have been without our items for over 2 weeks!

Review: Moved from New York to South Carolina. Movers picked up late, which caused a problem for me, and delivered late which created another problem for me.. Workers were argueing and not working when they were loading the truck. They were dropping things on the stairs. They were making personal calls on my time. No responses when trying to contact the driver and their boss to see where they were on the delivery. Had to go stay in a hotel, at 1:00 in the morning, because they didn't show up when they were supposed to and didn't respond to my calls to find out where they were. Got yelled at by the boss even though it was there problem. When they finally did show up had a lot of damages. His workers told me that this is how [redacted] treats all his customers and his employees. Kept contacting [redacted] and kept getting lies about taking care of it. Tired of contacting him. I moved from Florida to New York, with a different company, over 10 years ago and had no problems or damages. They damaged 3 seperate pieces of a $4000 bed room set plus a roll top desk that has been in my family for 50 years. Plus numerious other items. This company doesn't know how to treat people, and should't be in business. [redacted] shows no respect for anyone. Have contacted him at least 25 times, and still have not resolved this problem. If these companies are insured why can't they take care of these issues.Desired Settlement: want to get reimbursed for my hotel stay, damaged furniture, and broken mics items.
