Tri-State Home Improvement Company Reviews (2)

Review: I contacted the Warranty Services Division, at the behest of Tristate, and only upon Tristate specifically stating they would give the warranty information only upon closing a previous complaint. After I contacted the Warranty Services Divison, they requested specific paperwork, including the warranty and proof of purchase, which I readily provided copies of in March of 2014. On March 28, 2014, with the case claim number [redacted], they sent me a letter stating they needed proof of purchase and/or date of installation, which was already contained in the first series of paperwork. Despite this, I sent the proof of purchase, the tax record, the paid lean, and the warranty back to the Warranty Services Division on April 7, 2014. On October 6, 2014, they contacted me once again, saying they needed the product/brand name and the location of installation within 14 days of receipt. Though once again, all this data was already included in the aforementioned paperwork, and is designated on the copy of the warranty itself, I once again sent in all the paperwork requested by certified mail within the time requested on October 16, 2014. Since sending the certified, there has been listed no receipt of the mail, and no response from the company has been received. Despite doing all copies of paperwork requested, usually in excess of three times, I still am not being given any services guaranteed under my warranty regarding my defective siding. It appears as if they are deliberately ignoring facts included in presented paperwork to avoid following their warranty guarantees. I would like this resolved in a timely manner, as it has already been approaching a year since I reported the issue to begin with.Desired Settlement: I would like the work guaranteed on the warranty regarding defective products to be repaired or replaced as needed under the contract. I would also like this done fairly quickly, as my patience regarding this matter is being unfairly tested due to their own negligence. I am the sole owner of this property and am included on this warranty. This type of treatment is uncalled for and unprofessional, and I would also like a written apology. I can also provide copies of all letters and paperwork mentioned in the above complaint as necessary. Please let me know if additional documentation is required.

Review: A contract was was signed with Tristate for vinyl coated steel siding which included a 50 year warranty on defects, purchased in Fall of 2002. Last fall, peeling of the siding was discovered in the upper levels of the installed siding.

A call was made to Tristate on Monday, February 17th, 2014, leaving a message with my name and number, and a full explanation of the problem that was discovered. Tuesday, February 18th, I called again, and the number that had worked yesterday was no longer in service. On the 18th, I then wrote an email to Tristate directly, explaining once again the situation with my siding. On the 18th, I was written back and told they would call me. The next day, after no phone, I was left a message requesting my phone number again. I provided my number in an email following receiving their email, but to date, I have had no written or phone response. They appear to not be honoring their warranty, and have made no efforts to contact me in any way since.Desired Settlement: I would like to have the siding that is peeling replaced as per my agreed contract and warranty. If such efforts are not made, I would like Tristate to pay for the needed repairs.

Response:

Additional peeling and separation of the siding was also discovered in the second week of January, February 11th, and February 20th. Tristate has not responded back any further in regards to any of the claims. As stated in a later complaint, during the last communication, Tristate failed to inform of a class action lawsuit against Gentek, the provider of the siding, regarding the same peeling and separation problems currently occurring on the siding of the property. Tristate has told me that I am supposed to deal with Gentek personally, as opposed to any efforts on their part.

Response:

As of 02/26/2014 we had talked to [redacted]. She did let me know as of the 26th she did write the Revdex.com. When talking to [redacted] she explained to me that her sidding had started to peel in certian areas of the house. I explaind to her that the sidding is under warranty. I also explaind to her that she need to call the manufacturer to get the process started. She did not like that answer and said I needed to. Once again I told her they the manufacturer needed her to start the claim. She called me back and said she found her paper work and was going to call. I thanked her an again apologized I could not make the call. I also told her this is a very long process and is out of my control. As of March 11th I have a text from [redacted] stating she received the warranty packet and was having the peeling areas measured. I texted her back saying please keep me posted. We understand this can be very frustrating process to the client as well as us the owners. We do and will cont to help ours clients anyway we can. Please call me with any questions
