HiMy name is Coby L*** and I used Tri-State's services on 5/13/Sorry that it's taken me this long to send you this email, but I've had a lot to happen since my moveAnyway, I wanted to bring to your attention a few concerns about my experience with the moversIt started on a really positive noteThe guys asked me questions about the number of boxes I had, the location of my new place, etc...We also discussed the price which was consistent with what I was told when I made my appointmentWhen everything got underway, I started moving things that were not going on the moving truck to my carThe older gentleman seemed to have gotten frustrated because he told me he had it sthe way that he wanted it to go and that was after he told me to do what I needed to do on my endI could sense some hostility in his tone, so I tried to stay out of his wayI have a small dog and she gets excited when people are aroundI called out to her when I couldn't find her(I called her pretty lady) and the older gentleman said "this n-word called his dog pretty"I'm assuming he didn't know that I was standing close enough to hear his commentI felt that was very unprofessional and disrespectfulI don't like to be called that word by anyone, even it's by someone of my raceI didn't say anything and kept on moving things to my carI noticed the move was taking longer than what I was told and since that dictated the final cost, I grew very concernedI asked about the time and what I owed so far and the younger guy told meWhen we finally made it to the new destination, it was about an hour past the time frame I was givenWhen we discussed the new apartment(townhouse technically, but I told them that also), I told them that it had stairs inside and I was told that it wouldn't be a problemSo when they started unloading, I told them what boxes needed to go whereWhen the truck was about halfway emptied, it seems like their attitudes and mannerisms changed....I say that because they told me that it would be quicker to leave the remainder of what was on the truck downstairs and I could move it upstairs myself; they didn't phrase as if it just a suggestionI don't know if it was because of how hot it was in the apartment/outside, the job was bigger than expected or the constant up and down with the stairsBy that time I was tired/frustrated and still kind of upset about the racial epithet that was used earlierI just told them to leave it downstairs and paid themI know things happen and the quotes I was given were estimations; that's not what I'm complaining about....it was the lack of professionalism and the manner in which they finished the jobI was very disappointed with the service and how I was treatedI've never been an advocate of getting people in trouble on their jobs, but I feel like I'd be doing a disservice to potential customers if I didn't share my experience
