On August 19, 2016 Tristate had a service call for A/C system on his 42ft boat not working. Our receptionist had talked with the customer which was in his car at the time and there was no set time for the appointment. would be there that day. Unfortunately it was not relayed to our technician he was supposed to call before arriving. Our tech showed up and talked with the customer on the phone. The customer explained to him which system was having the problem and we had went to work on diagnosing and troubleshooting as usual.There was no power to the compressor. Everything else was running. Before removing the access panel to the compressor our tech had turned off the circuit breaker as a standard safety precaution, the panel was removed and the circuit breaker was turned back on so we could check and diagnose further. We had waited for the system to come back on and never did. The circuit board would need to be removed before any further diagnosis could be established because of the tight location it is in. Before we could do that we called the customer and told him what needed done in order to further diagnose the problem. This was typical procedure. Upon talking to him the customer had assumed we shorted something out and told our technician to get off his boat. He was irate with our tech and in no way going to listen to anything that needed to be done.We did however recommend to him it may need replace considering the unit is past it's life span and is 16 years old. After the brief conversation we had packed up our tools and left. Upon repairing hundreds of boat air conditioners we had never had this type problem with any other customer. This is typical troubleshooting which is required. Also, I did apologize for the inconvenience and if there was any miscommunication but we had not done anything different than what we normally do when diagnosing problematic equipment. Also I did call The customer back as he requested and had to leave a message. I never heard back from him until the following day when we received notice of complaint. Unfortunately this guy is unreasonable and should look for someone else to repair his A/C unit. If we had known what we were walking into we would have never showed up.
