Review: I scheduled a annual wellness visit with Tri-state medical group in Beaver Falls, PA. The annual wellness visit is fully covered by my UPMC health insurance. During my last examine in 2014 I discussed this with the physicians assistant and with Dr. F[redacted] to make sure that this was scheduled as wellness visit and that this was the service I was requesting. After this last examine 3/6/16 I was billed for a office visit for over $100. When I called the office and discussed with the billing department they said other consulting was given and it didn't matter what service I requested, it was the service that was given. I explained that I only answered the Doctors questions and had not requested any other services, and that this seemed like a bait and switch tactic that was extremely unfair. I also contacted UPMC and ask them to follow-up with Tri-state, which they did. The billing person said she would discuss this with her manager and get back with me. On 4/11/16 they called back and said she had discussed this with her manager and they would not change the billing.Desired Settlement: I expect them to correct the billing and properly record this as a wellness visit.
