Review: Around March 11,2015, a woman called [redacted] and said that a man would be out to clean her furnace. [redacted] told the woman that her furnace was cleaned back in January. The woman said that further work needed to be done. [redacted] said she believed she was talking to [redacted] Company, whom she deals with. On March 12, 2015 two men came to her home. She spoke to them and at that time she mentioned to the one man that sometimes she hears a noise when the furnace comes on. He told her the fumes/gas was not being released and that was very dangerous, it could kill her. She did give him permission to do work on the chimney. She said he and the other man were there about an hour. He gave [redacted] an invoice, hand written, with Tri-State Ventilation listed at the top and no PA reg # on it (by the way). It listed that they water proofed the entire chimney, removed blockage, cleaned pipe work, installed two stainless steel caps, realigned pipework, new cement crown on both chimneys and repaired 3 courses of brick. Now understand the second chimney they speak of is dead, it connects to nothing and they were told this from the start. At this time the man asked to be paid immediately, saying he had been cheated out of his money too many times. [redacted] said he insisted. [redacted] then called her daughter -in-law (who lives next door) to come and fill out the check for her. The daughter-in-law,[redacted], was reluctant at first but she agreed. [redacted] said the man ask to have check made out to him personally (red flag). Now [redacted] did sign off on the work on the invoice and signed the check over to a [redacted], who ran to the bank to cash it. [redacted] Co did send one of their service techs to [redacted]'s home (at our request) and he looked at the "work" that was done. He said they did nothing. What can be seen is a coating on the chimney and the two steel caps are just sitting on the chimneys with a bead of chaulking around them, they aren't even attached.Desired Settlement: I am [redacted]'s daughter, [redacted]. I'm filing this on her behalf. I would love to see these men stopped, what they are doing is criminal. If [redacted] could get her money back that would be wonderful. We do realize that may not happen. Stopping these men is vital.
