This patient was seen in our office on October 26, We were provided with a PHP insurance card that listed a
$** co pay for an office visit, therefore, this was collected at the time of visit which is our policy
We received the explanation of benefits from PHP for this claim on November 21, and this EOB informed us that the co pay was not applicable to this visitThe patient was placed on our refund list and was being processedHe will receive his refund within about 1-weeks
We queried the notes in our billing system, spoke to our billing supervisor as well as all of our billing staff to see if anyone knew anything about this or had spoken to the patientI was unable to find any notes and no one recalled speaking to himThis does not mean that he did not attempt to contact us or that he did not contact us but I was unable to find any evidence of thisWe are pretty good about documenting any patient contact in our systems for obvious reasons
It appears that our collection of his co pay was appropriate and further that the refunding of his co pay is also proceeding appropriatelyWe do not like our patients to feel like we did not meet their expectations so regardless of how this was handled, the outcome was not what is expected on our end either

It is nice that they say I will get my money back but I find it strange that they say they knew they owed me my money in November and it is now January and still do not have my moneyI guess if you do not file a complaint with the Revdex.com they just keep your moneyIt only takes a few minutes to write a check, not three months or even a week or
