Triangle Motorsports Reviews (1)

I was sold a car about 3 months ago, took it to a mechanic for "routine" maintenance, found out that the car is essentially totaled. What I was sold the car on 10/11/2013, I was told that the car was in good condition and it was already inspected and ready to go. After purchasing the car, I noticed that the windshield wipers were not working properly and an oil sensor error was coming up on the console, so I took it to the dealer's "recommended" mechanic and had him look over the car to let me know if anything was wrong with it. He said no, besides the windshield wiper issue and the oil sensor.I just recently (1/24/2014) got a "check engine" light come on, so I took it to a different mechanic to have it checked out. The news I got back was not good, basically the repair costs to get the car into a reliable state is essentially the same or more than the car's value. I took the car to multiple mechanics and they all gave the same report. Not only that, but the mechanics all agreed that the damages they saw would have existed before the car was sold to me and if they had saw it before I bought it, they would have advised me not to buy it.I recently also found out that the employee that sold me the car is no longer with the company due to "similar complaints" according to the owner. Blaming the issue on that employee and saying you can't do anything doesn't really solve the issue, it's the company that is ultimately responsible.Desired SettlementUltimately I think that the dealer should buy the car back from me for a reasonable price. I understand that I've put some mileage on the car, but really not that much. At this point I don't know what kind of value is still in the car, but it's definitely not worth fixing if the repair costs are more than the value of the car.Business Response The customer test drove the vehicle and then returned and wanted to take the vehicle to have checked. After a few hours, returned the vehicle and said that two minor issues were found. They requested a price adjustment based on those two items. The customer was offered a warranty and declined in writing. He checked and initialed that he had the opportunity to have the vehicle inspected by a mechanic of his choice, he inspected and found it free from defects, and signed all of the paperwork that the car was an "As Is" preowned vehicle. The customer had the vehicle checked by a reputable shop and received a clean check one month after purchase.Four months later, the customer filed a complaint. I contacted the customer but we cannot verify that any alleged issues with the vehicle did not arise during his ownership and months after his purchase. We have an A+ rating and have been in business over 7 years with no complaints. I think our track record should speak for itself.
