just dealt with this company. techs or installers were very, very nice and respectful. the first company rep in the office I reached was also. BUT THAT [redacted], WOW. The service tech that was sent out through my warranty company said that our water heater had to be moved therefore not covered by warranty companyTriangle plumbing was sent out by my warranty company to check the leaking water heater. He came out and advised that my water heater was not up to code and had to be moved closer to the entrance of the crawl space door and there were obstructions, he also plugged it and turned off the hot water so it would stop leaking, I paid the $75 dollar svc fee and he told me to call and set up an appt for installation and he left. I called the company to find out what the specifications were the female I spoke with could not provide them. I reached out to the state and they gave me the code of 502.6 for installation of a water heater in a crawl space to look up online. I did this and then measured our entrance and the distance, which was up to code. I called the company back and told them this, they still advised that it was not and said it is not covered under our how warranty and will cost $1200 to have the water heater installed. The next day I was under my house and found that there was still water leaking under the house. I found that there was water spraying from a pipe on top of the water heater in which he missed.I then called another plumber to fix that minor issue and paid him $100. Through all that I decided to get a second opinion. I then called the home warranty company to see if someone else could come out and check. They sent out another company Carolina Plumbing Repair of Garner NC who advised that the water heater could be installed where it was located and it was in code. They installed the water heater and it is working great. Our warranty company paid their part of the installation and mine was $475 and an additional $75 for a svc fee.Desired SettlementI would like to get both $75 dollar service fees. One for their service and the other for having to get a second opinion because of them trying to take advantage of me. I also want the $100 dollars for the repair of the missed leak on top of the water heater in which he could have repaired or mentioned.Business Response /[redacted]/Contact Name and Title: [redacted]- Office ManagerContact Phone: XXX-XXX-XXXXContact Email: [redacted]@triangleplumbing.netMr. [redacted] is correct that we did advise him that that yes his water heater did in fact need to be replaced. (My tech was on site 7/27/15) I took the call personally when Mr. [redacted] called in on 8/3/2015 10:14:11 AM, and stated that he had talked with an inspector and that they told him it was within code to install it in the same place. I asked him to get that information in writing for me and if there was an inspector that would sign off on that we would install the unit in the same spot of his crawl space and that if we could install it there his out of pocket charges would be drastically reduced. I am requesting that the homeowner send me pictures of where the unit is located now along with a shot of the crawl space opening to verify that this is within code. North Carolina code states the unit must be installed within 20 feet of the crawl space and completely unobstructed. His unit would have been installed back into the crawl space but closer to the door to avoid being obstructed by anything in his crawl space.Consumer Response /[redacted]/I emailed the pictures to the address shown above. I also have a copy of the bill from the company that did the work without moving the water heater, if that needs to be provided. I also have the quote Triangle gave us incorrect. It was quoted at 2300 dollars because they would have to rewire and add pipes because they would have to move the water heater closer to the door. Final Consumer Response /[redacted]/(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)Thank you for the response. The other company installed it effortlessly and also fixed the leak your tech missed which caused damage to the bathroom floor board. They must have used a different code book to install. Thank you for your attempted service, we will not use your company again. Best RegardsFinal Business Response /[redacted]Document Attached[redacted]I received the requested photographs in 10/16/15 @ 6:55pm from an email of [redacted]@gmail.com. I have attached them for documentation as well. This install is not up to code plain and simple. What the homeowner's non- covered items would have been with our install would have made sure that it was up to code.In the pictures you can clearly see that the unit is not unobstructed from the opening of the crawl. In addition to that the T&P drain line is not piped to the exterior both are requirements per North Carolina Plumbing Code.In regard to the lack of a clear passageway to the unit this would fall under NC plumbing code- 502.6In regard to the t&p drain line it falls under code 504.6.Please let me know if I can be of any other assistance to you.

Contracted by home warranty to replace recirculating pump. After paying $75.00 fee refused to do work without also doing $410.oo in unneeded mods.AHS home warranty service contracted Triangle Plumbing to come to our home and replace the recirculating pump on the hot water heater. They came to our home on 11/25/15, was there for 10 minutes and we paid the $75.00 fee.AHS later told us they would cover the cost of replacing the pump, but we were responsible for the $410.00 in "piping modifications" that were required. AHS had no information from Triangle Plumbing on what these modifications were. We explained to AHS that this was a simple process - turn off two valves (above and below the pump), remove four bolts from the pump flange and replace it. They told us we would have to get the details on the required modifications from Triangle Plumbing.Called Triangle Plumbing on 11/30 and talked to a supervisor. She did not know what the charges were, but would get back to me either later that day or the next day. Did not hear back from them, so called back on Friday 12/4. There was nobody there that could answer the same question about what the charges were for. The receptionist said the only person in the company that could answer my question was the General Manager and she was out at a conference. This was frustrating and I asked why couldn't anyone else tell me about the charges (for example the supervisor or the technician that went to our house). The receptionist got huffy, said I was rude and wouldn't talk to me any more. (I was not rude or abusive and did not use foul language - I was frustrated due to the lack of response or information. The GM later told me they record all of their calls, so you should be able to listen to the call for yourself). The GM called my wife the following Monday and was immediately very rude with her. Eventually she did tell my wife the $410 modifications were for installing a check valve that was required for code. I called back the next day to get more information on why a check valve was required (talking to other plumbers and looking on-line I could not find a reason why a check valve would be required - and in fact this is a continuous recirculating pump, so the check valve would serve no purpose!).When I called the GM she was immediately short, curt and rude with me and told me she didn't respect me and didn't like my attitude (and this was after less than 30 seconds on the phone and simply asking for more information about the charges). After she went on for a while, I was finally able to ask a question - was a check valve required when the pump was originally installed? The response was "I am going to go with no". I was trying to ask if it was required by code now, but was unable to get a word in. She told me that "for you, we will not do the work without installing a check valve". I told her that position was unbelievable and I would be posting a review of my experiences with Triangle Plumbing. She got upset and hung up on me. Then she called me right back to say they record all their calls and she has me on tape threatening her (my threat was that I will post my experience with the company). Please listen to the call - there was no threat.I talked to AHS and asked them to simply provide me with the money to buy a replacement pump and I would install it myself. It was a simple 15 minute job. They said they would look into the issue and get back to me. 30 minutes later, AHS called me, told my they had spoken with the GM, received the same rude treatment from her. AHS apologized to me for my experience with Triangle Plumbing and sent out another plumber. This plumber was able to replace the pump very quickly with no "modifications" required.Desired SettlementI think I deserve an apology and to receive a refund of the $75.00 fee paid to them for essentially no work.Business Response The none covered charges where estimated on this job was $196.00 for pipe modification and check valve $210.00. the reason the pipe needed to be modified was because the pump this customer had wasn't available through our supplier. The configuration of the new pump was a different size, which would mean it wouldn't line up exactly and needed correctly supported. The home owner also alleges that we didn't call back in a timely manor. We are obligated to call home owners back in a timely manor per our contract. Next, the check valve is required per manufacturing instructions which of course we have to adhere to. If the contractor who did the work chose to ignore these instructions, that has very little to do with us. All of these things where explained to the home owner. The last accusation was that we where " rude" on the phone. all of our conversations are recorded and anyone is welcome to decide who was rude and who was not. A request has been made for a return of their copay which is a requirement per contract with their home warren. We fulfilled our obligation to them and the customer in diagnosing the problem and pricing it accordingly.

Deliberate malpractice by the serviceman and the business owner instructing him.The serviceman came to our house, complaining that he was not paid commission and only $120 for one hour - so it wasn't in his interest to find and fix the issues. As he had been paid just to attend the house, he didn't need to do anything else. His only recommendation was to use the thinnest toilet paper to resolve one plumbing issue. When shown other plumbing issues, he would say they were not problems until we challenged his diagnosis and then he would change it to something else - ultimately so he didn't have to do anything. He then quietly sneaked out of the house without speaking to us about the issues or what action he was (not) taking. His diagnosis will now be used by the warranty company who will consider us to have no plumbing issues when our toilets still do not flush effectively and we have dirt and mud-like sediments sitting in our pipes that feed our showers and taps. It is completely unhygienic and any normal person (not even a trained professional) can see there are plumbing issues using common sense.Desired SettlementWe have paid for a home warranty, but the plumber's actions have made it impossible for us to use the warranty to have these issues fixed (which the warranty company told us were covered under the policy). We should be reimbursed so that we can have the issues fixed outside of the warranty cover. Business Response Contact Name and Title: Sandra- Office ManagerContact Phone: 919-341-1911Contact Email: [email protected] just completed a response to this homeowner's complaint on another review site and the 2 statements are very different. The homeowner stated that they had an issue with a mainline stoppage to their warranty company. When we arrived the homeowner advised the tech that it was several other issues that included a black mold like substance. The homeowner's warranty typically does not cover water quality issues or mold but we did relay the information to the warranty company so that we could hopefully get the issue resolved for the homeowner. If you are still experiencing an issue with your toilets not flushing I can send a technician out, once the suspected mold issue is addressed. (of course it will be a different tech) Per your warranty company we can only address what is listed on your work order which did state that you had a mainline stoppage per them that is all we can really look at. My recommendation would be to talk to your home warranty company and make sure that they have all of your items listed on there so we can address them for you while we are on site! If you have any other questions or would like to schedule a follow up once your mold issue is resolved please contact me directly. I look forward to helping you.

Technician's attempt to fix did more damage than we had before. WE had two hot water handles leaking, When he finished the handle completely did a 360Our sink is not usable because of the bad hot water repair and now the faucets on both sinks will not turn off and drip. Under the sinks now drip and we have had the sinks completely turned off since his second visit. The rubber washer he installed where damaged when he returned two days later.Desired Settlementrepair of our two Delta hot water handlesBusiness Response /[redacted]/We submitted these faucets for replacement because the tech noted that they were not repairable. They have been repaired several times and now need to be replaced. Are you stating that the faucets do not need to be replaced?Consumer Response /[redacted]/Both hot water handles have been repaired and the dripping faucets no longer drip ( which were not dripping before your technicians attempt to repair. Plumber sent by home warranty company repaired handles with proper Delta parts and replaced hot water handle under sink which was not leaking when we called. This was all I wanted your tech to do.Final Business Response /[redacted]/Again as stated before they can't be repaired and need to be replaced. When can we schedule replacement. This is covered by your insurance company. You are not paying for replacement.

Triangle Plumbing serviced a water issue and created additional damage. Owner ([redacted]?) refused to address this issue and make appropriate repairs.Triangle Plumbing was contacted by my warranty company (Total Protect) to repair a water leak from a bath valve. The water leak was dripping INTO the bathtub. When the plumber removed the bath valves, he correctly identified the problem, however he left the bath valves off. As a result, water leaked for several days back into the wall and damaged my kitchen ceiling which is directly under the bath tub. When I returned to the rental home which was 2 days after the plumber came out, I noticed the ceiling was falling down. After 5 days, I was still unable to reach the plumber to schedule another time he could come out and repair the original issue and address the ceiling damage. I finally spoke with [redacted] (owner?) who stated that I created the issue because the plumber told me not to use the valve and I did???? Before the plumber came out, I turned the main water supply off and never turned it back on. No one lived in the home as it is a vacant rental property so no one else including myself turned the bathroom valves on. The problem is due to water that was left in the line and the fact that the plumber left the valve cover off. Over a period of 2 days water seeped out of the pipes and into the sheet rock, eventually landing on the kitchen ceiling. This could have been prevented if the plumber would have put the bath valves back onto the bath tub knobs and close the hole. The original leak was only dripping inside the tub because the bath valves were in place and forced the water to fall back into the tub. Removing the bath valves allowed the water to fall back into the wall which resulted in the flooded ceiling.Desired SettlementRepair the ceiling that was damaged due to the water leak. This is a bonded/insured company according to my warranty company. The warranty company also stated that Triangle Plumbing should repair any damages that resulted from actions taken by the plumber.Business Response /[redacted]/We are licensed and bonded for our mistakes. The water should have been left off until you had the leak repaired. You still have not paid to have the problem resolved. We can't insure you for failing to have a leak resolved. I apologize but the water damage is solely your responsibility.Consumer Response /[redacted]/As I told you before, I never turned the water on. I turned the main water supply off prior to your plumber coming on site and never turned the water back on. Your plumber removed the bathroom valve and left it disconnected. This is the reason water leaked every where. There would be no reason for me to turn the main water supply back on as I was fully aware that the plumber had not resolved the issue. To the Revdex.com, I am not satisfied with this response. Triangle plumbing is blaming me for an issue they created. I never turned the water supply back on until today when a plumber resolved the issue. This plumber also informed me that the previous plumber should have screwed the bath valves back on to prevent the water that was in the line from leaking out. Today while the second plumber that came out and actually fixed the problem is the first day I turned the main water supply on. My ceiling is still damaged and I can provide pictures for the Revdex.com to review.Final Business Response /[redacted]/If you did not turn the water back on then you should not have had a leak. The only way water can leak is if someone turned the water back on.Final Consumer Response /[redacted]/(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)I've stated repeatedly that I did not turn the water back on and this company seems to dismiss this comment in each of their responses. I've attempted to deal with this issue through the Revdex.com and now we will take a different avenue. For the record, I do not agree not accept this response. By the plumber leaving the bathroom valves off, the water that was already in the line continued to leak in the wall onto the sheet rock and finally onto my kitchen ceiling. The unit was unoccupied so there was no need or reason to turn the main water supply back on until after the plumber returned to fix the issue. You will answer to this unfortunate issue via the legal system.
