Triangle Storage Reviews (1)

Review: I called Triangle Storage 3 days before we were to vacate our storage unit to alert her that we were moving out on Saturday June 27th and asked [redacted] about the process for closing out our storage unit. She stated that we needed to call on Saturday the day we moved out and leave a message on her answering machine. She then asked when my payment was taken out of my account and I stated the end of the month typically the 28th. She stated I should be fine to move out on Saturday the 27th. We did move out on the 27th and I called and left [redacted] a message on her machine to let her know that we had vacated. The next week I was balancing my check book and noticed that Triangle Storage had taken money out of my account or July even though I had vacated. I called [redacted] immediately and she stated that her accounting person was on vacation and she would have to speak to her "corporate officeand wasn't sure I could get a refund. Triangle Storage is a locally owned business and has no corporate office. I've had issues with Triangle storage charging me extra in the past and they have immediately refunded my money. I spoke to [redacted] 2 other times on the same day but made no progress in getting my money back. My husband called [redacted] on Tuesday July 7th and Wednesday July 8th to see where we stood on a refund and she still will not look into getting our money back even a prorated amount for the one day she states that we owe.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of my full $160.00.

Regarding the [redacted] unit that she said she vacated on that Saturday the 27th. On Sunday the 28th. they were still in the unit and moving the stuff out. They were also seen on the camera's throwing [redacted] trash on my lot.The payment that was drafted was done on time due to the fact I was on the lot Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th. working and renting to other tenants. While I was there the credit cards were processed as if it was a regular work day. I was unaware at the time as to which tenant was moving in or out until I got the call from her husband. In her contract it state there is a no prorate and if you are not moved out by your due date the full month will be billed. As far as her speaking to me she did not. She could have spoke to [redacted] whom was helping me or Joni my part time help. On the days listed 7/3, and 7/6 the office was closed for the 4th of July holiday. I was in and out of the office on the 7th. After researching this I do have a note on my daily planner as to speaking with Mr [redacted] on the 7/8 date. . I do recall speaking to her husband and told him I would check on the refund that I could not do this it had to be done by the Corporate office or accountant. Due to the fact the card was run on time and they were in the unit at that time, the refund was not done as far as I can see. Mrs. [redacted] was told at the time she moved in regarding the no prorate policy it is also posted in the office on the board. She was told it is in her contract also when she rented the space. Due to the due date hitting on the weekend her auto draft could have run a couple days later as with any other business that runs auto draft payments. The fact that I was working on that weekend the credit cards were run as a normal work day. I also have never run into this issue regarding the credit cards running on the weekend if the payment was due. The gate locks the tenant out if payment is not made on the 2nd day from the due date. Had it not been processed the tenant would not have been able to enter the lot to remove their things. I am very sorry for the misunderstanding on the move out date. I did not make the policy. I like anyone else working for a company follow the policies.if I want to keep a job.[redacted]Office Manager

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

I can provide all call records to the business that shows I made the calls as described. I would also like to see the video that shows us throwing trash on her lot as none of my party ate at [redacted] and we left our unit in broom clean condition. I would also like to view the video of use being there on Sunday still moving out since we were in [redacted] at that time and I have receipts to prove it. At this point we have no choice but to take the business to court.

Response:

The contract states that the company does not prorate and a copy was submitted. The tenant was still in the unit and owed the full amount. If she chooses to have an attorney look it over that is her choice. I will not argue over the petty details due to her saying they were still in the unit over the weekend. Even if she had someone (parents, friends, etc) moving her things out on Saturday or Sunday they were still in the unit. The bill was due and the date she went by was an error on her part. Her gate code was used at 12:53 P.M. on 6/28/15, on 6/27/16 at 5:19 P.M. which was a Sunday and Saturday check your calendar, so there is another documentation that you were still in the unit and the gate code would not have worked if the payment was not posted to the account. This is how it will stand and no further correspondence will follow.
