Tribor Management Reviews (1)

Review: I moved into my apartment in late June. In order to rent this property, I had to pay an application fee of $300. After I paid that but before I moved in, I was told by my broker that they overcharged me my application fee and I will receive a $110 refund within 30 days (at this time, it would have meant I would receive it by end of July). For the next couple of weeks, I followed up with my broker about the refund. He said that he contacted Tribor Management, specifically [redacted], multiple times and that she continued to claim I would receive my refund soon. I have an email that my broker forwarded where [redacted] explicitly says that I am owed my refund and that I should receive it within 30 days. I asked for [redacted]'s information so I could contact her myself.

I first contacted [redacted] sometime in July via phone. She told me that it could take up to three months for me to get my refund. When I told her that she originally said 30 days, she said that it had changed to three months but that she had "filed the paperwork" and my refund is "on its way." In October (four months after I moved in), I called [redacted] again. Now, she claimed it would take NINE months for me to receive my refund. When I told her this was unacceptable and that she kept changing her story, she became angry. She told me that that Tribor Management can only give refunds "when they have money left over" and that they already spent my $110. I repeatedly told her that they had no right to spend my $110 when they have known for four months that they owed me a refund. She got very angry and forwarded me over to the voicemail of someone named "[redacted]." I called and left an email for "[redacted]," neither of which were answered.

I brought my complaint to my landlord, who agreed to ask Tribor Management himself. He told me that they told him a completely DIFFERENT story. They told him that I am NOT owed a refund and my application fee was correct. After he continued to ask about it, [redacted] then changed her story again and said that I AM owed a refund. They claimed that the new application fee was now $300 but at the time of my application, it was only $190 so they will honor this refund. [redacted] then gave my landlord the same claim that I would receive my check "soon" and she had "requested the check."

It has now been EIGHT months since I moved in and I still have not received the check. My landlord has continued to ask about my refund and [redacted] of Tribor Management continues to lie about having sent it. Last week, my landlord said that [redacted] claimed she finally sent it in the mail.

To follow up, I called [redacted] again today after not speaking with her since October. When I asked about my refund again, she said once again I should receive it soon and she "requested the check." When I told her that she previously told my landlord she already SENT it, she became aggravated. She said I should call again tomorrow and also gave me the number of [redacted], the [redacted] of Tribor Management. I called the number and no one picked up. I left a message and no one returned my call.

Eight months have passed and still no refund. I am absolutely appalled with the behavior of Tribor Management. It is now not so much about the refund, but more the lack of professionalism and the tactlessness that I had to deal with on multiple occasions from [redacted].Desired Settlement: First and foremost, I would like my refund.

I would also like some liability against Tribor Management, particularly [redacted]. She has been absolutely uncooperative and lied on several occasions to me, my landlord, and my broker. She has changed her story no less than seven times: claiming I would receive my refund in 30 days, 3 months, 9 months, wasn't owed a refund, then was owed a refund, said she sent it already, then claimed she hadn't. She is not professional and should not be dealing with any more tenants.

Response:

At this time, my complaint, ID [redacted] regarding Tribor Management has been resolved. My landlord has to threaten them with not paying maintenance fees before they would give nee my check back. The entire time they gave attitude to me and my landlord. Horrible people to work with.
